My 2023 hybrid has been trouble free. This morning though totally dead. Today is Saturday and I drive it 90 miles Thursday. There’s no way the battery should have discharged in a single day with nothing left on. I’m wondering if I should sell it while it’s still under warranty. I’ll always wonder if it will start especially when coming back from a trip where I leave it at the airport or most any critical need time. My 95 Silverado sits for weeks and fires right up. This is unacceptable. I need a permanent fix, not a temporary one.

Simple answer; carry a jump charger. And as I have stated in other posts, I believe the real problem is the Ford Motorcraft batteries. Went through three defective ones quickly with the dealership before replacing it on my own nickel with a Diehard. We came back recently after traveling for 3-4 months over the winter with the Mav hybrid sitting in the garage for that whole time, and she started right up.

I had the exact same thing happen a few months ago.
Truck sat for a day and a half, with nothing on, no electrical accessories installed. Came out to a stone dead truck, with the battery showing 3v at the terminals. Pulled out the battery, smart charger wouldn't even recognize it, so charged it with an old school one, for many hours. Still using the battery now, trickle charge it every couple of weeks though, due to the known issue with the charging algorithm.
Had a similar issue with a Ford Five Hundred years ago. Would kill batteries overnight, about once a week. It was a b***h to diagnose, but turned out to be a failed radio sending bad info over the canbus and turning on the HVAC. Challenging to find, since the HVAC only came on after sitting off for 45 to 120 mins., no draw on battery before then.
My Maverick may have a similar fault, perhaps a glitchy component. I honestly doubt that this will ever be rectified by Ford, given the nature of the failure, and the mind bendingly slow response they have taken to contain the safety issue of Mavericks dying in traffic post recall.
I disconnected the battery at the airport, and won't park it overnight away from home without having a jump pack, despite the fact it hasn't happened since the first instance. Just way more inconvenient to have to deal with a dead battery after a late flight than to just pop on the negative cable. The Maverick is great, but if the issue becomes chronic, and kills a fresh battery, I'll sell it and move on.

Cheers.

How many recalls does that make ? 50 ? if you live in CA I would recommend getting a Lemon Law attorney and sue to get your $ back - FYI the only mfg. that knows how to do hybirds is Toyota

Well IDK, search up Prius Gen. 3 head gasket. Most every one is going to fail due to so many heat cycles in the hybrid (been there). Ignore it long enough and chances are you will bend the #1 connecting rod. Also recalled for inverter failures. Every manufacturer has some issues. I still like Toyotas.
Ford has a good track record with hybrids. IMO software is SO bad on the Hybrid Maverick though.

Cheers.

Mine did the same thing, totally dead overnight. I have had to charge battery several times to stop it from going to battery saver mode which causes the interior lights to not come on at night when you get in. very annoying. I now carry a battery jumper in the car in case it decides to die again. I want to get an AGM battery for it but have not found one that fits. Anybody know of one that does? Amazon lists a type 47 battery as fitting but it is about an inch longer which would make it a very tight fit and there are 2 tabs that stick up on the floor that hold the battery from moving that would be in the way if a longer battery was installed.

Try searching the forums for AGM or battery replacement. Lots of posts on the subject. My understanding is the ACDelco LN1AGM fits with no modifications.
Maybe try fully charging the original battery, with an external charger, then resetting the BMS.

Cheers.

This did not solve my battery issue completely. However, when I changed the charge level from 80% to 95% with ForScan, no more issues for me! :)
