Simple answer; carry a jump charger. And as I have stated in other posts, I believe the real problem is the Ford Motorcraft batteries. Went through three defective ones quickly with the dealership before replacing it on my own nickel with a Diehard. We came back recently after traveling for 3-4 months over the winter with the Mav hybrid sitting in the garage for that whole time, and she started right up.My 2023 hybrid has been trouble free. This morning though totally dead. Today is Saturday and I drive it 90 miles Thursday. There’s no way the battery should have discharged in a single day with nothing left on. I’m wondering if I should sell it while it’s still under warranty. I’ll always wonder if it will start especially when coming back from a trip where I leave it at the airport or most any critical need time. My 95 Silverado sits for weeks and fires right up. This is unacceptable. I need a permanent fix, not a temporary one.
I had the exact same thing happen a few months ago.My 2023 hybrid has been trouble free. This morning though totally dead. Today is Saturday and I drive it 90 miles Thursday. Well IDK, search up Prius Gen. 3 head gasket. Most every one is going to fail due to so many heat cycles in the hybrid (been there). Ignore it long enough and chances are you will bend the #1 connecting rod. Also recalled for inverter failures. Every manufacturer has some issues. I still like Toyotas. How many recalls does that make ? 50 ? if you live in CA I would recommend getting a Lemon Law attorney and sue to get your $ back - FYI the only mfg. that knows how to do hybirds is Toyota
Try searching the forums for AGM or battery replacement. Lots of posts on the subject. My understanding is the ACDelco LN1AGM fits with no modifications.Mine did the same thing, totally dead overnight. I have had to charge battery several times to stop it from going to battery saver mode which causes the interior lights to not come on at night when you get in. very annoying. I now carry a battery jumper in the car in case it decides to die again. I want to get an AGM battery for it but have not found one that fits. Anybody know of one that does? Amazon lists a type 47 battery as fitting but it is about an inch longer which would make it a very tight fit and there are 2 tabs that stick up on the floor that hold the battery from moving that would be in the way if a longer battery was installed.
This did not solve my battery issue completely. However, when I changed the charge level from 80% to 95% with ForScan, no more issues for me!Maybe try fully charging the original battery, with an external charger, then resetting the BMS.
