I am wondering if any Veterans of the Armed Forces who have 100 percent Service Connected Disability have been turned down for the 500.00 credit buying a new Ford.
I have 100 percent honorable service connected rating from years ago and could not qualify for the discount. One problem is that ID Me only has choices when verifying for retired but not disabled via medical. Board. However when researching further Ford only gives the discount to veterans with less than 2 years out (regardless of honorable or general) or retired or active duty. but all other vets are ineligible. Think how insulting that is for someone who gets hurt then discharged with a rating and some guy who spent 20 years sitting at a desk at some Fort or post at a desk can get the discount but the guy hurt in line of duty cannot.......
Wrote 2 Letters to Ford and they confirmed their policy did not include all veterans / disabled veterans with more than 2 years from active duty,
yet a retired military or less than 2 years from separation do qualify. Even my local Ford dealer says this is an insult and they note that most other Brands do offer a discount to all honorably discharged veterans.
Ford doesn't seem to get it. They certainly don't appreciate the sacrifice many veterans have made. They are not the USA focused company they pretend to be.
Thinking about cancelling my order. MM

Thank you for your service.
Ford doesn’t owe us anything. I appreciate the discounts we get in perpetuity from Lowe’s and others, but I can’t be angry about the programs for which I do not qualify. If I can’t buy it without their $500, I can’t afford it.

As a 100% P&T disabled GWOT veteran - they could give us nothing.

No company owes us anything. Quit bitching.

Lastly, a decent dealership wouldn't even question it. I've shown my DD214 (blanket) for the past 4 vehicles I've bought and gotten the discount no question asked.

I thank you for your service. I understand the disrespect you must feel. Don't lose sleep over this for 500 bucks. My dad a WW2 VET and my brother a Vietnam vet both past away in my life with out making and enjoying their retirement. And they got very little help from discounts or assistance from anybody. Keep trying I hope you do manage to get the discount and get your Maverick.

Thank you for your service but not everyone who retired sat behind a desk for 20 years.
Hopefully you still thank the VA every month.
I am viet nam vet with 21 months service, early out since did not redo and had less than 120 days left when 12 month in nam was over. Front line light infantry Medic 10 months three weeks, carried m14 with scope and match ammo. Troops liked armed medic even though if medic needed to pull trigger he probably would have 1 to 10 spares from wounded or worse. Was always happy to be in patrolling in free fire zone with all civilians relocated and not at desk waiting for incoming mortar or rocket. When troops complained about jungle heat, etc my favorite response was "Think about the poor SOB's that were in N Korea -30°F". I was "charmed" no purple heart but quite a few near misses. FORD could never survive the flack they would receive but I would have been happy if they had offered to move a vet to front of allocation line if the vet PAID $500! Disability mainly from being sprayed with agent orange while In jungle.

DAV membership qualifies you for X Plan pricing on new Ford vehicles. Fine print in link below:

https://www.dav.org/join-2/member-advantages/ford/

Find a participating dealer and savings should be more than $500. Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service. My father is 101 years old and a World War II veteran who gets thanked every day for his service.

X-Plan prices will definitely be better than a single $500 discount. If your local Ford dealer won’t honor the X-plan pricing through the DAV, you’ve got the wrong dealer.

My dealer is in Michigan even though I live in North Carolina. I used to live in Michigan, where most of the Ford dealers are quite used to dealing with employees, retirees and the like. In other parts of the country, they can’t be bothered with that. So we stuck with our Michigan dealer and they deliver the cars to us here.

I waited 13 months to get my Maverick, and I got it on A-plan.

I don't count on programs that offer discounts . usually to many strings attached . I to am retired military and do use some discounts . if grey military ID isn't enough I move on .

Did you get your salesperson to advocate for you? In my experience, ID.me only goes so far. There's a lot of variances across programs offered by different companies and you're often dealing with people who aren't familiar with the requirements of military service. See if you can find someone within Ford to advocate for you.

Couldn't agree with you more. I've been out now for almost 25 years, but the 10 years I did serve prior to my ETS due to a brush with a sharp charge doesn't account for squat when it comes to Ford giving you a discount, but hell that goes for the government to IMHO I get more from my local Lowe's ( with my personal parking and year around 10%off ). Ford you can do much better for us than this
