I retired in 2017 and received it for my truck. I had to fill out the form ( https://fordrecognizesu.com/military/Home/Index ) online and send the code or response to the dealership.

Thanks to all the Veterans on this thread for your service. It's pretty cool to see the Viet Nam and the 1973 "mustered out" responses on here.

The 2 year rule ONLY applies to those who did not RETIRE.... so ALL retirees, and Veterans within two years of separation qualify for Ford military rebate... Typically, Ford opens to ALL veterans around Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veterans Day.

Does anyone know why the military 500 dollar discount from Ford for veterans is not for all veterans only veterans that have left military in the last 24 months. Seams vary unfair
Maybe because us older vets are in the world making a much better salary than recent ETS vets? Just my thought.

Im a Vietnam era disabled vet. Ford said "NO NO NO" with my 2023 Maverick. Chevrolet was a big "NO" with my 2021 Corvette. Also I waited 13 months for the Maverick, got a 2023 one week before 24s were available. All I got for over a year wait and a year old vehicle was $100 "FORD" Gift Card. Which went on a $97.50 oil change.o_O
I like the truck, but the purchase and services have been some of the worst ever.

I asked my salesman about the military discount. He didn't ask for any verification, just added $500 to my private offer.
Maybe not now but eventually someone at the dealership will.

I think you only get 5 certificates in your lifetime with Ford and 2 of mine were for Mavericks, 1 for a Ranger and working on number 4 (another Maverick).:) Not like the old days when they didn't keep track and you just showed the dealer a copy of your DD214.

Ask your dealer. I wasn't eligible for Ford's but the dealer knocked the same amount off mine. Even if you have never bought a Ford before, there is bound to be some incentive they can apply in the name of "supporting" veterans.

That was over 2months ago.
I can only offer my experiences. I bought 6 new vehicles in the last 8 years from Chevy, Hyundai and Ford (x3) and everyone gave me a $500 military discount either via iDme or a copy of my DD214. Didn't need to see any paperwork until the day I took delivery. If your dealer gives you the discount without any supporting documentation thats great but I think Ford might want to see something. :)

No problem, If they want to see verification, I have it.
