Just a thought...Did you have the $500 certificate and presented it when you ordered the truck NOT after truck ordered?

I had my certificate and was told by my salesman that I had to present it when we did the paperwork to finalize the sale. I did and received the $500 discount. I actually had two certificates, one expired before my Maverick arrived, so I applied again for another one, which I received and then used.

Maybe messing with the discount is a dealer option whether Ford approves the dealer action or not. Perhaps after taking delivery those that did not get discount honored should contact Ford directly?
