...my carry-out food stays warm! Discovered by accident when I brought dinner home and she said, "Wow, how did you keep it warm on the drive home?" and I realized the passenger seat heater was still on...:geek:

I also discovered this by accident but it was opposite. I had cold perishable food on the passenger seat after grocery shopping and by the time I got home it was all warm and gross. Also, another fun fact is if someone farts in a heated seat and leaves the smell lingers forever

One of my favorite reasons is they provide a built-in heating pad good for the back after working lifting a bunch of stuff. I will NEVER have a vehicle without them again, no matter where I live.

The heated seats (and steering wheel) remember the setting between starts, so if you're not paying attention the passenger side might be on all the time once someone turns it on. The driver's side, at least, you notice while driving.

Now if other things would remember the setting...I'm looking at you, drive mode controller.

The Maverick heated seats have 3 settings, HOT, 2nd degree burn, and 3rd degree burn.

Best thing for me is.... between 0 and 40f in a hybrid its the only heat you get for the first 30 minutes plus of driving.

As a child of the 1940s, I always thought heated seats were stupid. Then, a few years back, I bought a 2004 Ford Retrobird. In the Texas weather, I could drive all-year-round with the top down, if I so desired, because of the wonderful heated seats. And I only ever used the LO setting. You posters have come up with some great usages of the heated seats. I will probably never have them again, as I always go "low end" with car purchases.
