We all know that the paint is not the greatest but my cat keeps the mice out of her house and she is a garage/outdoor cat. She has a heated home in my garage but I think she notices it's my vehicle and she wants to be on it. Anybody found besides a tarp that might slip and scratch the easy scratched paint some sort of hood cover that can be used when cats want to jump up and lay on your hood? It might also detour her from getting up there if it isn't so warm in these Indiana winters. All talk to text so hopefully you can help me out.

probably fighting a loosing battle with the cat. My thought, look around goodwill etc and find you like a soft material (cotton, flannel, etc.) bed blanket to put on your hood and top of cab. Tarp material might could scratch if pulled across the paint.

She's worth too much so there's my Maverick, after I wouldn't want the aluminum foil to scratch.. lol Love the feedback

Don't want to do bath towels or anything where her weight will slide down and she tries to stop. Trying to think of some hood Matt made for the Maverick that has hooks right by the window that could be hooked in

Cats that do this don't just stop doing this lol. I think the only real solution is to cover the vehicle. Like @40caliber said, you either have a jumper/climber or you don't.

You can place a mat on the hood and use strong magnets to hold it in place. I put a towel on my dryer and do the same to store the laundry basket when doing laundry.

If you are willing to put something on the hood every time you park, how about just opening the hood? If she walks around the engine compartment her scent will keep the rats away.

How about a Harbor Freight “movers blanket” .
That was my thought exactly. I have a few of them and keep my old Mercedes covered with them in the garage. Cheap.
