I know someone will tell me how dumb I am, but I use the car wash on my Mav. No scratches or issues yet. The shorter antenna will not get caught on anything moving around the top of the vehicle. My neighbor had hers broken off of a Chevy at a different car wash. Hers is still on back order after 3 months.

I ordered the stubby one posted earlier on this thread and found it led to poor reception (I returned it) and went back to the original.

Same , size is just right .aesthetically and safe wise for car wash thrashing.

I use Mister Carwash, a conveyer/drive through and haven’t had any issues. I go through the wash at least every two weeks.

You know, the stock antenna has that raised spiral on it for lower wind resistance. Not that it gets you better mileage, but to reduce possible wind noise.

The stock antenna looks off to me and I rarely listen to the radio except while in town. The reception isn't as good, of course, and the stock one lives in the glove box if needed.

Well it certainly improved my reception a ton (because the dealer forgot to put my antenna on in the first place )

Just put mine on. Easy install. Great reception. For me, it’s a keeper!!!

The Stubby Jr. is the only accessory for the Maverick that I've ever returned. The reception was poor, especially for HD radio stations on the Lariat radio.
