Hah - I'm gonna be one of those click-bait posters, except I'm not linking to my YouTube video and providing no other thread substance like some a__ posters do.

Just wanted to warn and vent about the tailgate bottle openers - it seems that due to the angle needed to use them to open your bottle of beer, it makes it highly likely to get a bit of spray. Happened on 3 or 4 beers this weekend, a couple of different IPAs. Luckily I had an open beer in my hand to quickly drown my sorrows.
Same beer, same condition, opened with your normal bottle opener and a more level bottle = no spray.

I'm now sadly going to have to think of these as only backup openers, and poor ones at that (as so many other implements could work instead).

Unfortunately one of the best features they included, is a dud [for suds]. My avatar's life is numbered...

We can end “alcohol abuse,” in our lifetime. Stop the spills.

If its a quality craft beer I've learned to open them using any number of makeshift openers without spilling a drop.

That tailgate opener doesn't look like a problem but maybe could be improved if the tab was bent down a bit using a hammer or some vice grips.

Yes I noticed this too. Especially with stubby 12 oz bottles. Seek other means to open, the angle is too flat. 🍺🍺

Real beer pours from a tap, not a bottle. So put a keg back there and enjoy some real suds. Use the device on the tailgate to keep it propped half open for hauling long materials.

Worked fine for me... strange looks when I left the restaurant to open a bottle on my tailgate. Like I was McGiver or something. New place no one had a bottle opener yet.

You have to put the tailgate at the mid position to operate the bottle opener.
