After 500+ plus days of waiting my Maverick has been built and awaits shipping....
To say Im nervous about the issues that I have read about is an understatement, this is my 1st new car in many many years.
Im hoping that Ford has worked out the kinks and My new Mav will be trouble free. I would appreciate some honest input, opinions and real life experiences that would help me pull the trigger on my 2024 Maverick.
Thanks in advance!

I don't meet your respondents criteria but in my opinion you'll have a 50/50 chance in experiencing issues regardless of model year. To me, it's a mystery, many are practically trouble/issue free but some have issues. Sometimes i think its luck of the draw on which vendors parts are in the supply bins during production. I think your chances are high on an overall good experience with the little truck. Maybe set your expectations for some minor issues and if nothing then your expectations have been exceeded. Calm your nerves, more than likely all will be fine. Congratulations on your truck getting built, hope you receive it soon. I thing your gonna love the little truck.

I kind of know how you feel, my '24 Lariat hybrid is supposed to arrive sometime later this month. My '23 XLT FX4 that I bought while I was waiting for the hybrid has been flawless and after reading about the issues with the hybrid like the deep sleep it gives me great pause. I keep telling myself the hybrid was what I always wanted and it's the perfect complement to my not so mpg friendly Bronco Wildtrak. I'm just hoping for the best and fingers crossed I get a good build.
And before someone tells me to keep both that just isn't possible :)

I have been driving my MY 23 Hybrid for 3 months now and no issues. Well, I do have a light bulb indicator recall but I think I will ignore that. I mean all my other cars and trucks have rear bulbs that will go out and there is no recall on them. I just listen for the fast blinker noise and know it means check for a bulb out.

But then I do have to tell you that I was always taught to do a walk around the vehicle at least once a week to see things out of the ordinary. Maybe a trucker thing I don't know. But it does keep you informed if you have issues that you won't see from the driver's seat.

I would have to second OleFordGuy on the luck of the draw dipping into the parts bin. I do a lot of my maintenance and I see a difference at times when I buy the same part from the same supplier at times.

Just get it- Drive it- Enjoy it.

I’ve had my Lariat Hybrid for about 4 months now. So far there have been no surprises, and my thoughts are that you will have little chance of negative issues with yours. I have about 4k miles on mine and have flat towed it behind my motorhome with no issues. I’ve averaged north of 41 mpg for the last couple of months. I have to say I’m quite happy with the little truck overall. It is pretty much what I expected from an inexpensive small vehicle. So my advice is. Don’t try to over think it.

It is my humble opinion that your 24 Lariat Hybrid will perform better overall. Any new vehicle will have its issues. The Maverick has had its share. But, I have seen each year get better. Me? I'm in it for the long haul. The thing that was an eye opener for me was how the computer on our Mavericks is connected to the mother mainframe (Ford Cloud, or whatever you want to call it). So electrical modifications will have to be done skillfully and carefully. I'm not going to do any more electrical modifications until I see that the connections are plug and play.

The days of splicing and not worrying about anything are over when it comes to this truck. I have always added aftermarket head units, speakers, amplifiers, driving lights, lighting accesories, fog lights, LED bulb changes, etc to all my cars. But doing this on the maverick messes with the on-board computer and this information is stored and seen in the mothership's computer. Found this out from the people who control the mothership, who called me directly and informed me so.

Two months and first thousand miles in '24 Lariat. No problems so far, did find it came with upgraded 470 CCA battery from Ford. 42 MPG average through SC coldest weather and it's not broken in yet really.

700 miles so far on my Cactus grey 24 XLT with 360 and sunroof. Like you, hadn't had a new car in 13+ years. I love it so far.
Easily getting over the advertised mileage with a mix of city, 2 lane highway and freeway mileage. (I love that it's an excuse to take the back roads instead of the interstate!). Handles better than I expected (not like my Mazda but definitely better than my CR-V). And I have to say the fit and finish and panel gaps are really good. The infotainment is pretty marginal, but once I get a wireless AA adapter it should be better.
Reading these forums does have me nervous about the deep sleep issue, but then I remember that people with problems are far far far more likely to post than those without. If it was a really frequent problem we'd be hearing about it on CNN or USA Today, as they love to trash car companies, especially the (nominally) domestics.
So I'd say go for it.

I have had my XL hybrid since last July. My only issue with it is that the 12 volt accessory power points often cut off as soon as I turn the truck off and open the driver’s door. When the truck was new, they stayed on 40 minutes after exiting the truck. Most people would not even notice, but it is annoying for my use case (dash cams in parking lots, and a bicycle tire inflator). I even replaced the OEM battery with a $230 Die Hard Gold battery and that was wasted money.

I was at zero recalls, but I recently got the turn signal recall which is just a software update. They work fine without the update.

My only advice to you is to keep your expectations realistic. I am delighted with the vehicle, for the money. But keep in mind that the Maverick, at its heart, is an economy vehicle. If you are expecting luxury (or even mid-range) design and materials, you likely will be disappointed.

End of production XLT Hybrid 2023. Zero powertrain issues. Radio/Media screen has twice turned off and on while driving for with no known cause. Not anything I'm worried about.
Enjoy your new vehicle. You are concerned about events that have not happened and you have no control over. If you are worried about reliability what you can do is extend your warranty during first year of ownership for reasonable $.

Thanks for the insight on the 470 CCA Battery, hopefully that will eliminate some of the electrical issues of the past. Best of luck with your Maverick

Have had my 24 Lariat Hev for 10 days now. Just over 500 miles at 49 mpg. Rides smooth. This is the 6th new truck I’ve owned since the mid 80’s. I can say it is the best of the bunch ( the others were chevys). Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine. Good luck.
