Quick question for Northeastern winter road salt removal …. Has anyone used Salt Away to rinse the undercarriage of their Mav or other vehicle to neutralize and remove winter road salt? Looking for a good solution to neutralize and/or remove winter road salt with springtime cleaning whenever early spring arrives.

Sorry, i got my little truck about a week ago, and I've been hiding it in the garage ever since - as you know winter finally arrived last week. It'll eventually see some salt and snow here in MA, so I got it undercoated with Waxoyl.
To your question, I do not know of a good salt neutralizer, other than plenty of water, but someone around here probably does. I look forward to your replies because this is my last new vehicle ever, and i need it to last.

If I didn't have my Maverick undercoated I would. But since I had my Maverick undercoated with the NH Oil I'm not going to spray the undercarriage.

I'll give my a periodic undercarriage wash but not specific. I applied two coats of Fluid Film before any road salt was laid down. I know I did not get it perfect but I think it will end of saving the Maverick quite a bit of rust over the years.

I don't know of a product that would assist with salt neutralization.

So you're saying there is a brand name product to neutralize salt? Interesting...

I always use the undercarriage wash, since its only a dollar or two extra usually, but I have always assumed a little spray of water won't accomplish much when I only get a wash once every 2-4 weeks or so.

I didn't get undercoated but am considering it after this winter.

Absolutely love Fluid Film and used it on my prior 20 year old Ranger. I also spray the outside frame of my steel casement windows for the basement and my deck cleats. I didn’t do any undercoating on the Mav but, it’s a good idea.

Yep, “Salt Away” is a highly rated product on Amazon. People apparently love the stuff. It is also very popular with salt water boaters.

I have an undercarriage pressure wash bar for my electric pressure washer but, my fear is too many voids in the undercarriage may get water on components that should not get wet plus I’m not sure how the felt coverings would like a pressure spray.

I would use the Salt Away in a one gallon pump sprayer for much greater control.
