If the computer cutting in and out is the cause and nothing wrong with the steering rack itself .I wonder if the rack could have been damaged now. Its not only snapping the steering wheel but the big tires on the ground too.

I have seen this with other manufacturers that have electric steering. It is VERY dangerous to drive like that.
Thank goodness you have the video. Service Manager should take you in Immediately. Now; getting replacement parts? That may take a while. @Ford Motor Company can you Please assist this?

If I remember correctly there was a LOT of issues with the Fusion electronic steering back in 2008- 2012?

Or maybe that was just the wheel coming loose. My brain is NOT what it used to be. But at least FORD has reached out.
