Steering wheel wear

That pic makes me want to put a steering wheel cover on right now. And I'm not a steering wheel cover fan.

I did put a cover on the center console arm rest to prevent wear (like I had on my last car). $20 well spent in my opinion.

well it's inspection, recall time again so I'm gonna have the dealer look at it.

Wow! That makes me nervous.i have a 52 year old Mopar,as well as two 14 year old Mopars that have zero steering wheel wear. So far no wear on my one year old maverick.curiois do you wear heavy gloves when driving? And if you have a heated wheel do you use that alot?

Do you have and/or do you use a Heated Steering Wheel? Just a thought? I think there is a lot to say about the Hand Cleaner and other chemicals that might be used. Good luck.

Has anyone else noticed this wear on their steering wheel. I don't have greasy solvent hands and it's only at the 10-12-2 location. I dont live in a hot sunny location either.

Just saw this but I took the truck into the dealer for the recalls and to look at the wheel. The told me the new steering wheel was on order.

Here's the cover I use, you can do two or three sections based on your preference. Doesn't interfere with heated steering wheel and it has a grippy feel to it.

I actually ordered the silicone cover that was mentioned in other post and use it now and will use it when I get the new steering wheel.

I have a 22 maverick with 22,000 miles and no problems with the steering wheel.
