Whoever you used, it seems like it was amateur night at their shop! 🤬 I hate places like this. 100% pure and total incompetence!! THEY need to fix EVERYTHING, not you. You are the customer who spent good money on THEIR product that THEY installed, and a s***** job at that. I hope they do the right thing.

All the years I sold Fords, I used a company that was 45 minutes away from the dealer (one way). My boss always gave me crap about using them, and not just selling the old one-piece drop in. I had to CONSTANTLY remind him, that 1, if the customer wants to buy a spray in, over the older crappy drop-in jobbies, it's their choice, NOT ours and 2, the place I went to were 1st class!! 100% professionals who took pride in their work (it was a body shop that also got a Line-X franchise, so you know all the spraying and detail work of a top body shop. Plus, they removed EVERYTHING from the bed. Every bolt, screw, rubber grommet, plastic trim, tie down, you name it. And corked them all so reassembly was a breeze.

In the 23 years I was there and I used them for at least 15 years, I had ONE issue, once! Their spray gun jammed and got a tiny amount of over spray on the side. They told me, kept the truck an extra day and fixed it. This place you used, I'd blast them online. They need to be held to a high standard.

The liner company does all the dealer and customers ordered sprays. Did good job. My guess is dealer has specific instructions to this “authorized” hired company on procedures, how to’s and what to avoid.

Just to update, I spoke with the owner and he is definitely willing to make it right.
Let's see how it turns out then. It's going to be raining for a couple days so for me I can't even fully investigate, but I have plenty of time before I go back.

Maybe I am a bit more lenient, because I have been in the automotive industry before.
I don't like to generalize because it could come down to just the individual who made the mistakes, instead of blasting the entirety of a business.
They somehow have good reviews so there has to have been better jobs I would hope.
That's why people need to start being paid for their performance, so the great employees of the world can be happy showing up to work and not leave. That is why the automotive world is in my past and now it is just on a personal level for me to start wrenching.

It definitely hurts more when the odometer still had less than 250 miles when it was dropped off to be "upgraded." I haven't even pumped my first tank of gas yet to see what this capless fuel filler is all about. I am sure it's just a simple stick it in lol.

Today marks 2 weeks and 1 day. I went to Line-x to get the spray in bedliner.

First truck so first experience with such an upgrade, so I didn't know what to expect.

If any one can chime in with what I noticed if it was normal?

-some over spray on to my paint that isn't the bed or the part of the tailgate that needs to be sprayed.
I imagine those parts can be wiped off since the area wasn't prepped for the spray to bond. Goo Gone or alcohol maybe.

-The part of the tailgate panel that they remove, the area where the locking mechanism is located, it seems they sprayed in there as well.
I couldn't key lock my tailgate at first, then it was stuck and can't be unlocked.
Informed them of this then they came over to remove the panel of the tailgate to chip off the bedliner spray that is on the lock.
Will need to remove the panel myself and inspect when I get a chance.

-The part of the tailgate that latches to the bed when you close the tailgate, also over sprays on the latches. Some of the spray was able to chip off easily at the parts that latch on to the bed. Will inspect tomorrow if the other parts of this area is also sprayed and will cause any problems.

-All the rubber grommets(the ones to pass wires through or for tonneau drain holes) have been sprayed on, should i remove them as soon as possible so they don't get stuck forever? Or when the time comes, I just need to drill through those sprayed on rubber grommets.

-Last one I believe is just normal, all the holes(ie the holes for tie downs) are sprayed into so it's just a matter of me tapping the holes when it's time to add accessories. I have an XL so there are more holes that aren't being used yet.

Of course I took care of my Maverick's 6 today, but on the way home something flew and chipped my windshield. I guess I can no longer act like my Maverick perfect and pristine so that it is some weight off my shoulders, because it's a truck and it's going to be trucking.

Thank you for any input. Pics will probably help so I will update when I get a chance.
I learned from my SECOND Line-X guy that not all Line-X franchises are equal. The small screw-up that my first guy did, my second guy corrected. Some guys know what NOT to spray over and some do not. And, some CARE and some do not. Good luck.

The individual making the mistakes here is the owner. There's clearly a lack of training and quality control that remains unaddressed. The management style of handling complaints as they come without doing anything to prevent them from happening in the future deserves to be blasted.

This place you used, I'd blast them online. They need to be held to a high standard.
Way ahead of you.

Mine was done by Campway in Santa Rosa CA.
They did an excellent job, and Campway manager Cass fit my Mav in on short notice.
And they were $100 cheaper than LineX in my area.
Also my fantastic salesman, Drew Gottlieb at Hansel Ford Santa Rosa, coordinated
running the truck to and from Campway to have it done before I picked it up.

Crappy install with no attention to detail. They need to make it 100% right.

Chapman Horsham did rhino liner for me and did an outstanding job. No overspray, no screws covered or rubber sprayed over.

Beautifully done, even finish. And that stuff is tough - my old truck had no liner and the bed was all rusty from the scratches from use that this stuff doesn't even notice.

Really good attention to detail. I mentioned a few of these concerns when I dropped mine off and they we like "yeah, we already know, don't worry". And they did. Can't recommend them enough.

Wow, sorry to hear about all the problems.
My lineX guy here (SC) does a great job with none of the above mentioned issues.
He's done 5 trucks for me and 2 were Mavericks.

Just had similar issues happen on the spray in bed liner job down here in Houston.

- Bad tape job led to material on the trim covers on top of the bed.
- rubber grommets sprayed over.
- tie-downs on the sides of the bed sprayed over.
- Bed rail threaded holes sprayed over.
- Clear heavy use of force on Torx bolts.

I can understand the extra labor that would annoy the average shop worker on these beds. There's a lot going on back there. That doesn't excuse them from laziness that then gets defended by shop owners that want to save their bottom line.
