Even if Ford lowered the price to $15k out the door in all 50 states and had every possible color combo/trim level on every dealer lot with no wait times, I wouldn't buy one (if I had to keep it and not sell it).

They simply break down too fast and have too many issues. Mine spent 4 of the 6 months I owned it at the dealer's service department and they still never fully fixed it. I drove an embarrassing 100hp 21mpg 3 cylinder Blue Ecosport POS loaner longer than I did my Maverick after the first ecosport they gave me overheated in 45 degree weather.

The Hybrids are plagued with faulty wire harnesses, drivetrain issues, electrical problems, recalls, etc.

The XLs are a bit more reliable but the only ones I've seen with over 70kish miles so far had to have the transmission replaced/fixed or the axles changed at least once.

%70 of the Mavericks owned by members on this forum would be considered lemons in most states' lemon law text.
Whoa, talk about going from one extreme to the next! I hope my Eco boost Mav scheduled for delivery doesn't have as many issues.

🤓 YES, this is my third Hybrid. My past experience amazingly good. Not just good gas mileage, but also lower overall maintenance until I reached well over 100,000 miles where stuff just wears out.

This thread is a perfect example of what we've been talking about. It's perfect bait for the maverick haters, and we've seen most of the usual suspects come out to play, all four of them on the thread of 26k people and hundreds of thousands of trucks.

To anyone concerned about the mavericks quality, even the most reliable cars ever built had a vocal group saying how unreliable they are. It's just the way things are, there are some people in the world who just want to tear other people and other things down.

Looks like basically everyone here is saying their truck has been flawless, or has only had mild issues. So much for a pile of junk. But hey, if detractors want to jump ship and take their chances with the oh so reliable Toyota trucks that are getting their engines replaced after 5k miles, be my guest.
What you say is true however I get a sense that some people here possibly gloss over the negatives so they can legitimize the purchase in their own minds. The people that have had major problems are probably done with Ford completely and don't frequent the forum any longer.

My 2023 Hybrid was built last December. Only 4200 miles, no problems (yet?) At this point, everything works perfectly. Lariat Hybrid and I am as nervous at Mike Tyson in a spelling bee.(not)

Undecided but kind of regret it at this point. MPGs are just not there unless you exclusively drive at super low speeds in a lot of stop n go traffic. People's solutions to improve MPGs unironically include not using the heat/ac. I have a 20 year old truck that gets 25 mpgs without any regard for driving conditions, use all the heat I want, go 90 on the interstate. Getting 33 mpg in the hybrid while trying butter it aside from not using heat/ac. May look into selling it but I have no idea how or if you can sell a financed vehicle.or what it entails.

Yes, I’d buy the same truck (XL hybrid) at the same price.

Five months in and 1,400 miles it has been almost 100% positive. Runs and drives great, lots of technology for the money, amazing gas mileage, and in my opinion it looks great. Minor issues: windshield pitting and 12 volt power points too often cut off the moment I open the driver’s door to get out of the truck.

All that said, the way Ford keeps raising the price if I were buying today I’d be having a second look at the SUVs that I was considering prior to deciding on a Maverick. I’d probably still go with the Maverick, but I’m not so sure it is still the smoking hot deal that it once was.

Not sure I'd buy another one due to the price increases and because I might not want/need a truck by the time I'm ready to part with it. I would definitely be interested in another hybrid of some kind, though .

Overall I'm happy with my '22 over 12k miles so far. Love the fuel mileage. The recalls are annoying but don't stop me from driving the Maverick until I'm ready to take it in.

YEEEESSSS. We love our truck, almost 6k miles. It's an amazing commuter vehicle combined with a light-duty truck which has been SO useful!

I ordered my Hybrid the first week Build&Price thread for the Maverick was available. Build&Price allowed me to place an ordered for a Hybrid AWD and Ford accepted my order. Two weeks later my dealer emailed me that Ford had decided to not proceed with production of Hybrid AWD since the road testing of a Hyrbrid AWD showed added weight and loss of MPG make it compared to the EcoBoost...Ford Marketing had decided to not continue a Hybrid AWD, and got my permission to change my Build&Price order to a non-AWD Hybrid. My Dealer suggested things may change but not anytime in the near future until new engine and battery design addresses the issue.
How? They never had an AWD hybrid. It's still in development....
