When I hear stories like this and my girlfriend's experience with her dealer and her maverick. I really hope all manufacturers go to online ordering and get rid of these archaic dealer practices.

Don't doubt your experience at all. I don't have to have a new truck, wife wanted one so we could visit the granddaughters in a new truck (1300 miles one way ) I am happy with the old truck.

Sorry that happened to you and your father. Thought that South Bay Ford was one of the good ones. Guess I was wrong. It’s a shame that dealers do that to hard working people. All for an extra couple of thousand of bucks.

Without a doubt South Bay Ford plays game and is scummy - but you had to expect this with your Father's order after the trouble they gave you with yours, and some of the comments you made to them while purchasing.

Again - South Bay is scum - but if you touch the stove once and it burns you - at least be more careful when trying to touch the stove again.

My background is actually as a TV consumer news producer, and I have covered dealerships in the past (not Ford) which have pulled shady things on customers. Unfortunately news just is not even watched anymore. As in, it literally gets a 0.2 rating. I would say starting around six or seven years ago, is when companies generally stopped trying to remedy these types of complaints from customers. It just is not important what's on TV anymore.

FYI I was also in touch with Santa Monica Ford, and they were marking things up as high as 20,000 over MSRP.

It's a shame but everything is online now. Local news of all types has been killed off and made irrelevant. It's not a good thing at all.

That is what these shady people do on a daily basis, lie and cheat customers. The GM is unprofessional and incompetent based on his email. I love the mug shots with full names, nice job, lol!

It seems odd to me that on an Internet site, people are complaining about how local print & news shows are no longer relevant. Isn't this exactly why Google, Yelp, DealerRater and other review websites exist? I stand a much better chance of seeing feedback online than I do catching the 2 minute clip on my local news broadcast.

Check to see if you are exposing yourself to liability by posting the mug shots. Understandable and very humorous to me personally but may work against you for a variety of reasons.

Perhaps better options like small claims court for breach of contract, better business bureau, etc.

My local dealer added 100 bucks to my bill for installing ridiculous door protective film and I smiled and asked them to tip the detailer--got an excellent deal on my trade in etc made that easier. But if I had a box of dealer-installed accessories sitting in my backseat I would have been very unhappy as well. Not sure what you could have done differently on your dad's order but hope that you can work some resolution at this point.
