MPGs FAR below advertised and hype. Are you all telling the truth?

Nope, I ain't a lyin'. Most all summer, I was hitting over 50mpg. I don't keep the fuely level of statistics, but each tank has real, measured mpg within (below) a couple of percent of car/trip computer report. -- good enough or me --

Just the other day I hit 5000 since resetting the trip computer.

Of course it is much lower now.

• winter gas blends
• lower temps
• remote start
• holiday travel -- interstate speeds
• cruise control
• Christmas time impatient driving style

Still, better than I ever expected.

I'm getting around 24 in my AWD 4k. Actual calculations. I've adjusted the trucks guessing down, it was at least 4mpg too high.

I drive in a manner that usually has the truck shifting at 3-3.2k, pretty much always 10 over the limit, 75-80 on a freeway.

edit, better would be nice, but its the most fuel efficient vehicle I've owned outside of motorcyles. I had a truck that got 3 in city driving, I could get 7 on the freeway...

I'm getting 33 average mpg after almost 3k miles. 60/40 highway/city. I understand highway is going to be worse. But I do far amount of city driving too. I use Eco mode EVERY TIME and try to keep it in electric/charging using the coach as much as possible.

So what's going on? Are you guys being serious with the MPGs you're reporting??? BE HONEST

One of the big selling points was mpg and I have 20 year old truck that I can get 25mpg in with complete disregard for driving style

Lifetime average is 45 mpg, not in the 50's others have reported

Just took my 23 lariat hybrid into service and they did a PCM recall I think it was. Now I'm on pace to get 640 miles on this tank! Kinda blown away as I wasn't really trying to get more mpg just driving like I normally do which usually yielded 550-600 mile tanks. We will see if I make it to 640 miles on this tank. May drive it until the light comes on to see what I get. There is definitely a learning curve to maximize the MPG you can get in it. I came from a plug in hybrid and the game was always to see how much I can keep using EV only mode so I paid attention to the terrain on the freeways and in the city. I drive about 55 miles a today mixed freeway and city driving. If you want more mpg you may have to change your driving style. Haven't really turned on the heater unless my feet are cold. Usually just the seat heater is enough to keep my comfortable but when I'm on the freeway I will turn on the heater just because I have to run the engine anyways so might as well heat up the cabin. I never use eco mode as it does not help at all. It turns off and turns on the engine too aggressively for my tastes so I was actually getting worse mpg than just my way of driving. I already posted a picture of my 600 mile tank. Will post another if I make it close to 640. I reset the trip meter at every fill up so we will see what happens with this tank of 87 costco gas.

I do mostly very short trips in my hybrid. 3-4 miles each way. My mileage is in the mid 30s. I actually get better mileage if I mix in some longer highway trips.

Most reports on Hybrid Escapes and Mavericks are around 30-36MPG. That is average. Anything else is great but shouldn't be expected. Personally in my area with the mountainous cold I saw 28/29 highway and 34/36 in town in my Escape and that was best case scenario without hypermiling - i.e. driving the speed limits and not going super slow just to save pennies. The reports on the Mavericks check out to be mostly the same. My overall average with the Hybrid Escape was 32-34 over the year and a half I owned it. Keep in mind that was also an "AWD" one like the current EB I have now (it's FWD 90% of the time).

With my current EB and 245/65R17 I am getting 24-28. 24 in the cold and 28 in the summer. If I had 235's that number might go up 1 or 2 MPG. 225's like the truck came with stock, likely another 1-2MPG.

Anything over that is perfect case scenario. Go by the averages and expect to either meet them or be just under them. If you go above, congrats. This is nothing new with MPG reports online. Personally, if I wanted to brag about MPG - I'd buy a prius. Anything above 20 is good enough for this size vehicle for me and a lot better than the full size and mid size trucks I had previously.

2023 XLT hybrid, new in July, everything stock including tires. I currently have about 2200 miles on it. In the summer I was consistently getting 46 city, around 40 on the highway. With freezing temps setting in and winter blend gas, I'm getting closer to 40 city (haven't made a road trip in the last 2 months). If I don't drive for 2-3 days it likes to send me a message that it is disabling remote functions. That said, Detroit is FLAT, I do a lot of 3-5 mile short trips, always put it in ECO mode and drive like the old man that I am with a fear that everyone else on the road is trying to kill me. I've still been pleasantly suprised at my mileage.

My Mav Hybrid 1,700 Mile AVERAGE 40 MPG on the trip odometer since last oil change
My Summer time Average per tank is 43 MPG
My Winter time Average per tank is 37 MPG

My driving style is soft on the pedal and under 70 MPH on the highway - Speed kills the mileage.
My average setting, is Suburbia with average speeds around 20-40 mph around county roads.
Highway travel is a monthly 400 mile round trip to New England from NY ( 40 MPG average)

So nope no fibbing here. 17,000 Miles on the truck now and long term average is 40 MPG

Driving on the highway above 70mph will begin to drop MPG into the 30s - Go 80 and forget mileage, you will be down to 35 MPG Summer and 33 MPG Winter.

The trucks hold 5000 miles of rolling MPG average if you never reset.

So those with more than 5000 miles on the odometer it is averaging your most recent 5000 miles.

I'm averaging 42.1 over the last 6 months. This is actual mileage, not the inflated mileage that the computer gives. I track it with the fuelly app. Mostly ECO mode in various weather conditions (I'm in Michigan). The cold takes a toll, but I still got 39mpg my last tank. My commute is mostly 2 lane highway (55-60 mph).

I believe I saw a thread here recently with a way to calibrate the truck's mpg calculation to make it more accurate?

Short Trips in and around tow Average around 38-41. Highway 60 miles a day at 65 and 70 i am averaging 36. I only look at the MPG when I shut it 0ff
