Perhaps pressing the lock button on the FOB two times will prevent the hybrid from going into deep sleep mode.

I've started getting it since I left my car at an airport for a week, I did get an update done at dealer the week earlier, (emissions heatup routine) anyway got it twice within a week for the first time since owning.
I trickle charged it last night and had a fordpass update this morning at work (Update started when i was viewing truck through ford pass, took 10 minutes).

Doubt this is true especially with the hybrid and it's battery cooling post shutoff.

There's no need to cool the battery when shut down since it's not being charged which would be the primary cause of significant heat generation.

It MAY help in "borderline" cases.

It does nothing useful with a strong battery. And if does nothing useful with a very weak battery.

The only mystery is, will this keep a "strong" battery stronger, longer???

I have been monitoring the voltage since I started getting deep sleep notifications. I have a little digital voltmeter attached to a 12 volt cigarette adapter. The voltage is around 11.7-11.8 volts when I get into the vehicle. It doesn't matter how long, 10 minutes or 2 days. Once the vehicle is started the voltage is over 15 volts. My drive to work is 17 miles/ 35 minutes. When I get to work or home, once the vehicle is turned off the voltage drops back down to 11.7-11.8 volts in less than a minute.

I have had deep sleep notifications less than 45 minutes after turning it off and locking it with one press of the FOB.

I purchased a diehard and installed it on a Friday after work. I did the battery monitoring reset. The voltage was around 12.6 volts. I started the vehicle and all was good. The next morning I checked the battery at the terminals with a proper multimeter and the voltage was 11.8. I returned the new battery. Reinstalled the stock battery, did the monitoring reset and continued to get the notifications.

So, maybe I have a borderline case. I was thinking about putting an oscilloscope on the CAN bus at the OBDII connector and see what the difference, if any, is between one lock press and two presses. On modern vehicles, sometimes it takes a long time before all the modules go to sleep.

This is just an annoyance. It just means I can't remotely start it. The vehicle always starts up when I get in and turn the key, even with the low battery voltage. It is a head-scratcher, never seen new batteries drop that much voltage in such a short time.

The deep sleep issue is due to low voltage at the lead-acid battery under the back seats.

I think its the FORDPASS app-my HYB XLT was delivered March 22 and have NEVER gotten a deep sleep message AND I don't have the FORDPASS app so...not professing to know,just my experience

Well... If you don't have the Ford Pass app, you won't get any notifications...
When the app notifies me of a deep sleep state the vehicle doesn't identify that it is in a deep sleep state. It just starts up normally.

I have never had deep sleep mode and yet the truck has sat in the garage for three days while we drive the other car. I never lock the doors while the truck is in the garage. When we are out and about, I lock/unlock the doors via the door handles. Only occasionally do I use the fob to lock/unlock the vehicle.
We've had the truck for over a year. We do not have FordPass setup nor do we want/need it.
The truck is a 2022 Lariat hybrid with lux package and 360. Love this truck.

Not going to happen. FORD is clueless and the Ford Guy is is on vacation with the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.

The EcoBoost has a similar battery issue but the Ford app gives the message "Battery Saver Mode" instead.

I think the trucks are using a lot of power for numerous things in the first 75 minutes after key-off.

So those who make multiple short trips in one day are getting multiple drains because the 75 minute clock resets every time.

Just an educated guess.


And dammit Ford you botched something here. Just not certain of what.

Not once have I ever got a deep sleep notification. I have NEVER hit the button twice. If anything I tend to lock my Mav by pressing the last two buttons at the same time on the number pad. I drive mine every day and I would say I have not gone more that 12 hours not driving. Its my only car and I have 3 teenage kids that keep me on the run.
I should add that my Mav sits in a locked garage so I do not lock the doors at night and my garage stays at 40 in the winter, it is not heated.

You are missing out on annoying the neighbors with a double honk on the truck to tell them you are home and the truck is now powered down so it will start again in the morning.

Thanks, Dale. That is the exact reason I don't use the fob. I figure that the neighbors will appreciate my using the fob. In fact, their appreciation might be my key to the pearly gates and not the dark place.

The dark place is also a continuous blaring of horns honking and fobs flying everywhere. I saw it in a nightmare one time.
