Taking into account a report that the fob key is a source of theft vulnerability for sophisticated theft groups, I noticed one comment that said that hitting the lock key on the fob twice, which make the horn beep, cuts off the vulnerability by stopping the fob from emitting its call to the truck. I have wondered about the effects of the second click. I normally do it because I like to hear the horn beep and I think the alarm is in a more protective state.

I have not yet seen anything in the manual about the effects of the second click. Can anyone provide reliable information on this?

Thanks,

Donald

The second click immediately shuts the items on the delay circuit. The courtesy lights, the dash, the radio. Plus I do not know what else. It might turn on more anti theft I am not sure about perimeter alarms, etc
PLUS the main thing I like isn't the lock verification. The horn will honk once if truck is successfully locked all doors and hood. If any door is not shut or not lockable or hood is not totally latched the horn honks twice.

I believe the main vulnerability involving key fobs transmitting continuously is for keyless vehicles with the start/stop button. If you have a vehicle that requires a mechanical key (with NFC transponder chip) then your risk is much lower. Of course, Kia and Hyundai cars (without transponder keys) are pretty easy to steal too,
