My XLT hybrid was scheduled for 11/20. I called Ford marketing today and they said the truck was built and it was scheduled for delivery by 12/31. My private offer will expire on 1/2/24. I asked if the truck was not delivered by then would they extend the private offer past the 1/2 date and they said no that it would be up to the dealer to honor it and not ford. Has anyone experienced this? I’m about to give up on this truck!

I’m gonna guess that rep gave the wrong info. Given roll overs have scheduled Jan-Feb with plenty of roll overs still pending.

Ford will extend your private offer 3 months at a time. Mine "initially expired 1/2/23...before it was renewed and my truck was delivered 3/8/23. No hassle from my good dealer. As far as they are concerned, it looks like a rebate.

There are still valid private offers from 2022 to 2023 transition. Not an issue.

I think that it’s criminal that buyers are all living through the drama of buying a Maverick. I really like my truck however I really dislike the fact it took so long to get built and then I couldn’t buy it because I ended up buying one over the sticker price. That will take a few years to recoup.
The fun of buying a new car is snuffed out due to worrying if the dealer is going to screw you over, etc.
ford could very well lose an entire generation of buyers over the shenanigans going on.

Assuming the program will be extended, know that the private offer $$$ go from Ford to the dealer. A really stupid move but probably related to their franchise agreement. It is entirely up to the dealer to pass $$$ on to you, the customer. Dealer can pass on all, part or none. No amount of crying to FoMoCo customer service will change that fact. At this point, it depends entirely upon your dealer to pass it on to you.

An honest dealer will pass it on. A less than honest dealer will keep the $$$ and give you excuses: "Ford changed the program" "Ford discontinued the program" "We see it on Smart Vincent but the system won't let us apply it to your sale" and on and on. They don't care if you walk away because they can sell an XLT hybrid easily. Or any hybrid for that matter.

Build up repoire with your salesperson - start now by email. My suggestion is, when your truck is built, correspond by email and have in writing- ask for a breakdown of all the items they will charge you for, sales tax, doc prep, vehicle prep, license fee, cost of vehicle and the private offer credit they intend to apply.Tell them you need this to explore financing options and the bank, credit union etc etc want a breakdown of various fees and credits.

I had to get very dramatic with my dealer who tried to tell me Smart Vincent would only "let them" apply $1900 instead of the full $2500 for my 24 Lariat hybrid. Ultimately they issued a check to me for the additional $600.

I heard today they are shutting down commerce on the southern border to expedite more special people more quickly . Good luck

I'm giving up on getting a private offer from my dealer in Waldorf, Md. They are not helping and neither is Ford. Been waiting for my 2023 Hybrid XLT since orders opened. Now the build is complete for my 2024 and just waiting for arrival.
I'll pay the difference because I want the truck and they would be happy for me to walk away.
The thrill is gone for now.

Tell you this, no matter how much I like the truck I'll never buy another Ford and will bad mouth their business practices going forward. Own about 10 shares of Ford stock and would love to show up at a board meeting to blow off steam.

If in transit they should be able to contract on it and use offer. They push stuff to deslers sometimes but there is so little profit in these units that dealer cannnot just make that happen.

A more effective way to blow off steam is in Small Claims Court.
