I also started getting the Sleep Mode alert about five months after receiving my 2023 Maverick Hybrid. This is a major issue that is frustrating, especially when I left my keys in the truck and couldn't unlock the door with the FordPass app. I found that the BMS (battery monitor system) reset fixes it....temporarily. It's easy to do and I do it when I park the truck at the end of the day. Someone posted a video on here on how to reset. The video is a little different than the instructions. But what you do is:

1. Turn the key to the ON position
2. Pull the High Beam lever 5 times
3. Step on the brake pedal 3 times
4. Turn the key to OFF
5. Turn the key back to ON
6. Look for the RED Battery Icon to flash 4 times. (three plus a short 4th)

You should be good to go.

It seems to stop the relays clickety clack, too.

I was able to reset the BMS without doing steps 4 and 5. I wondering if the procedure varies on the year and/or trim level of the Maverick...

Temporarily is the key word here. It's insane to think that FORD has been dealing with this issue for over 5 years now and they still refuse to solve it.

I had that issue with deep sleep after I had my dash camera installed. I used to leave parking mode on so I turned that off, but it didn't help. So after reading another thread on here about how the battery charges more in low gear when driving I used that for about a week while I drove around and haven't had anymore issues. I also leave my dash camera off parking mode just in case. No deep sleep mode warming for 8 months or so.

Definitely a BMS issue, did a recharge and reset no issues ,remote start works perfectly through the app as well.

As I was reading the instructions the Hokey Pokey song went thru my head...put your left foot out, pull your left foot in, pull the high beam towards you and turn all about...🤣

so what happens if you do this procedure and DON'T have a DEEP SLEEP issue-just a BMS reset? implications?

Ricky, I was thinking the same thing, only patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time.

I have a loaded '23 Lariat Hybrid that was delivered in late September (after 375 days—far from a record, but not far from being rolled over to a '24). A few weeks later it started going into deep sleep after sitting for as little as a day, and I began researching these battery threads after the FordPass suggestion to drive the truck didn't seem to have much effect on its "hang time." I have a battery load tester, and it proclaimed the 12V battery healthy, at least when it had a full charge. (It said "replace" when I tested it during deep-sleep depletion, but I think that's to be expected.)

Mysteriously, the truck recently seems to have cured itself without any BMS "hokey-pokey" on my part; I haven't driven it for nearly a week, and the truck and FordPass app are behaving normally. (It's performing more like my previous '06 Prius, on which the 12V would deplete after sitting for a week or 10 days unless the "Smart Key" function—and its current drain—were disabled with a button for that purpose.)

I've also noticed that the truck's frequent relay clacking (with or without a proximate key fob) mentioned elsewhere has also ceased. I can't help thinking this and deep sleep are related; to me the relay activity is indicative of some "vampire" loads that were draining the 12V battery and inducing deep sleep.

BTW, I just did another load test. After six idle days the battery is still reading 12.07V and is showing a decent capacity of 497 CA (I think a full charge should yield 587.5 CA, from the best specs I can find for a Motorcraft replacement):

Has anyone else experienced such a turnabout with the hybrid, and could Ford finally have fixed the problem with an OTA update? Anybody rigged up an inline ammeter or some other means of measuring standby current?
