I was with you until no heat in the steering wheel lol.
Heated steering wheel should be a must-have on the Mav.

The Escape already has it as optional. I can always do it again afterwards!

One risk of the MY2025 mid cycle refresh is they could decide to decontent a bit...

They've already started that a bit with the MY2024 XL and XLT in terms of what options / colors are no longer available. Other than XL gaining cruise in MY2023, the XL and XLT have both lost standard equipment and options ever since the first model year.

The Lariat lost some standard equipment in MY2023 (though items were still available as options), but they reversed it with the MY2024 where they throw in absolutely everything (sans the key pad) at a super high price.

MY2025 pricing will be interesting to watch.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Ford can’t lose focus on what made this such a successful selling vehicle. The price. Keeping it basic, limiting the bells and whistles are a much easier way to keep the costs down and production running fast. Better option than compromising anything under the hood. I wouldn’t expect any major improvements inside unless Toyota forces their hand.

How about the move the reverse warning sounder (on Hybrids) to THE BACK OF THE VEIHICLE so people behind you can hear it???

And the heated wipers. I was really looking forward to that being in the midwest in the winter it can get old having to pull over and break the ice off your wiper blades so you can see while you drive. Defrost on full blast can't keep up during freezing rain.

I have a similar recollection of growing up in Nebraska as a teen and struggling to keep windscreens clear in weather. Especially the junks I was driving on my after school delivery routes...

Now living in the desert the heater wiper deletion is a non-issue for me.. but I know folks from PNW, Mountain, Midwest, Rust Belt, and New England would have really appreciated them.
