The 2023 model would turn "auto stop/start" back on every time you cold started the truck, even though you had manually disabled that function.

Does the 2024 still have that behavior?

There's no reason that Ford would let you disable it permanently in a way that's supported by them.

In my other vehicles that have this feature, when I push the "disable" button that's built into the vehicle, my preference is retained and it stays disabled. With the 2023 maverick, Ford ignores my preference and re-enables it every time you start the truck.

Ford is the one with the surprising behavior here.

Do you know whether this device (for 2023) still works on the 2024?

https://www.autostopeliminator.com/products/2022-ford-maverick-autostop-eliminator

And are you answering based on your personal experience with a 2024 vehicle or are you assuming based on the lack of any documented changes in the MY24 design?

Thanks!
I'm speaking from experience with dozens of Ford vehicles over a number of model years.

It didn't change for MY24 - in fact, I'd bet my Tremor on it.

Thanks for the insight! So I'll assume that the AS/S Eliminator for the 2023 will still work and be needed on the 2024

I would say with near certainty it would work.

It's all in how they interpret the rules and feel like dealing with the customers.....

I would assume that in order to get credit for the small boost in mpg in the fuel ratings, it must be the default setting. Your government at work.

The ford mechanics can turn this off for diagnostic reasons when working on the vehicle.BUT,they have to turn it back on when done.

It’s mandated by the EPA that the auto start stop feature can only be used during fuel economy testing if it is activated every time the vehicle is turned on. This is why you will see 0 stock vehicles that allow you to disable the auto start stop and retain the memory. It’s worth 1-3mpg in testing

My bmw remembers my preference and leaves the setting disabled.
