If an ST comes out and it's worth mine is GONE!

It would still have to be AWD though.

And I think most of us want to see more than anything - a Hybrid AWD like the Escapes have offered for a LONG time. It's long overdue.

Tremor Hybrid? Just shut up and take my money.
I'm with you on both. ST would be a definite if it came with a stick, paddle shifters would be a definite maybe, neither would be a pass.

I don't believe Ford has ever paired the 2.3 with the 8F35 so that is unlikely. Even the tune will be mild at best due to the 8F35's limited power rating.
yes they have with the lincon corsair

I heard we're getting a Maverick Sport Trac, where instead of chopping off the roof and adding a bed like they did in the Explorer, they're gonna chop off the bed and turn it into an SUV instead
But will it run on propane Hank?

Well I get that. I think they should be AWD standard equipment but I guess Fiord disagrees. I live in AZ and just don’t think where we live justifies the price increase but that’s me.
I don't need or want AWD. FWD is fine.

Certainly not a hill I'm trying to die on but I think they beefed up the 8F35 and called it an 8F40 when they popped the 2.3 in the corsair.

I'm certainly not saying it is impossible and I would be the first one to jump at one (ha besides maybe Ivan @Fast Mavericks ) but the 2.3 would make the Maverick AWESOME.

Well I’m actually from the Midwest and I understand your sentiment completely. Not that big a deal.

You also get a real rear suspension.
Trucks have been using real suspension on solid axles for 100 years. Independent is not needed or even common on trucks.

I find this topic rather amusing. Wasn't Ford's CEO talking about having fewer options and models for vehicles to simplify production and cut costs? Adding more variants kind of seems like it would be going against that.

Twist beam is a fake independent suspension. Far from a solid axle.
Chevy Cavaliers used this, inexpensive.
