As has been discussed ad nauseum, what constitutes a mini or compact truck is all about what you are comparing it to. The original Motorweek review of the 1983 Ford Ranger calls it a midsize truck. Which seemed funny to me until in the very next shot they park it between a Ford Courier and an F150. Obviously if your reference point for compact is a Courier then the Ranger is a midsize.

Dudley, you got it.
Well, how about that! Thought that looked like some of the Bay Area homes on hills!
My mother was born and raised in Coos Bay except for a few years in Pennsylvania where my Dad was from.
I was born in Pennsylvania in 1948 but when I was about 18 months old they moved back to the Bay Area, and I lived there until 1979 when wife and I and our two girls left for Fort Wayne, Indiana, where I attended Concordia Theological Seminary. Have since then lived in Nebraska, Missouri twice, Washington, Minnesota, and now retired in Indiana.

Montana...show me the ignore button!
Just click on their username and you get the ignore button. Funny on the earlier post about ignoring a negative user in here. I don't see their posts so I must have taken care of them early on.

Why would anyone chose to "ignore" another poster on a forum? You'll be missing out on all the funny stuff! 🤠

It's not the size, it's how you use it. 😄. The Maverick fits my lifestyle just fine.

Same reason I don't hang out in bathrooms when someone is taking a dump. Not every fart deserves to be smelt.

Read the heading and was all set to argue till I saw it was the "mini" part of mini truck you took issue with.

Compare side x side with an older Ford Ranger. Our trucks are significantly larger. But! They are small in comparison to most other vehicles out there. We have become a nation of whales! Perfectly matches our waistlines. Sorry, but true!

I don't think so. The Maverick has smaller windows (new cars have higher window sills for safety) and the bed sides are higher. But in width and length pretty similar. My Maverick next to a co-workers 2 door Ranger. Think his is a 2006.

That's wrong. It's "whoever smelled it dealt it" implying if you are complaining about a fart smell you are probably the one who let it out. I also heard that a smelt is a fish from some guy.
