2024 XLT Hybrid on order since mid July 2023.

Other than my current turning radius, I think it drives better than my Hyundai Veloster Turbo I'm coming out of that is stiff as a truck.

It's plenty of room for me and will fuel my DIY trips to Home Depot and Lowe's, as well as kayaking trips.

Well I'm not sure I agree.
We are all concerned about gas mileage, and ( some ) are concerned about green this and that, We're concerned about COSTS and say stuff like my S10 was only $15,000 new. Yet, we keep growing everything around us, our cars our trucks our homes ( err our belt line) A critical look at the situation yields this conclusion: We are more spoiled today then we were back then, and there might be merits to down sizing a bit. If we keep on the current insanity we will all be driving 18 wheelers soon. If ego is driving our large desire, that's a problem. All that said... The Maverick seems to be just about right sized for city use. Not small but smaller or small-ish for 4 adults.

Depends on your idea of small. My '09 Supercab Ford Ranger Sport 4x4 is what I'd consider a small truck. Next to a car sure it's a bit longer and taller. Next to current trucks it looks like if you hollowed out a F-150 it could fit snuggly inside it. I'm completely dwarfed next to full sized trucks even a Tacoma and newer Rangers are bigger. From the measurements I can find the Maverick and my Ranger should be about the same. These are definitely small trucks to me.

Had an older Ford Ranger. Have a Maverick. The comparison for me is crash test videos for both. Yikes. So glad I was never involved in a crash in the former.

Mini truck? The Maverick? I don't think so as I get out of my VW and into the Ford it is like leaving a rain barrel and getting on a yacht. I bought the VW so I could haul tools and such and still get decent mile per gallon in town. Now that I have the Ford Maverick I can do that with style and comfort galore.

I still will keep the 1981 VW as I am still in restore and improve mode on it. I don't have the electronics to service the Ford but I sure can tear apart the diesel in the VW. Today was swap a turbo day. Man that diesel oil is sure black stuff.

Many of us have garages that are 50-100 years old. I love my new Maverick, but it barely fits in my garage. The width is my main problem, not the length.

Yea, back when cars were far narrower and garages were rare!
This is the main reason we went with the Maverick; it fits in our garage.
When we retired in 2016 and moved to be near our youngest grandkids the house plan we chose offered a three or two stall garage at the same cost. Did the three to have a shop area in the front half front and our lawn equipment and outside furniture etc. during winter at the garage door end.
We arranged it so we could have cars in the two main stalls.
We got the maverick mainly because it was a four door and by moving my automotive tool chest would have a couple of inches between the back of the bed and the garage door and 2 feet between front and wall. That is enough for the two of us to get by the front of the Mav.
To allow doors to open enough to get in and out without hitting the other car and/or the wall we hung something from ceiling to bump up against right where the rear view mirror attaches to windshield with each slightly angled away from the other a bit to do so.

You know, this all depends on why you bought the Maverick in the first place. I drive an F-150, I bought it because we use it for what's it's designed for, hauling and carrying big stuff and towing things. I bought the Maverick for my wife's needs, hauling smaller stuff and filling the bed with the things she needs to. I'm happy with my 150 she's happy with her Maverick and both of our trucks fit our specific needs. Plus, we live in snow country, I have 4 wheel drive, she has an all wheel drive. Safer to work, Safer to home, for 6 months of the year.
