Yes, Tribalism has poopoo'ed all over this forum. There's no Safe Places left on the Internet.

I'll stand by my criticism of FoMoCo's lack of communication.

I get the feeling folks w/ Hybrid orders have moved on to jokes and anything that helps pass the time, but I have seriously considered cancelling. I posted about this on the forum and finally talked to my dealer. My salesman totally sympathizes and actually said FoMoCo has "made dealerships look stupid" from this lack of info about what's going on. (Dealer's words, not mine.) It's good to see folks are sticking it out for the long haul because I think it will be a long haul.

Being critical doesn't make anyone an anti-Ford Instant Gratification Baby. Siskel & Ebert criticized every great movie but that didn't stop us from running out like crazy to buy a VHS/Laser/DVD/BlueRay/"Cloud" copy. I guess fans -- literally "fanatics" -- will plug their ears to anything negative.

And how quickly amnesia sets in on the fanatical. Bronco?! That fiasco seems to have been entirely forgotten by most everyone or labelled as somehow completely unrelated. And folks forgot the earlier snafu that happened with Hybrids. The "until further notice" memo was only about 3 weeks ago but any of us reading anything into that were Tin Foil Hat wearers, and it was swept under the rug. After that was the quieter, but not unnoticed, update that build/delivery dates were getting pushed back by 1-2 weeks. Now delivery is "N/A". And something about EPA testing ... but don't worry there's no delay. 🤔

It's naive to believe the tidbits of unofficial info this forum gets wind of are all just unrelated and the Hybrids will be in an owner's hand come November. If still no delivery on Dec 21st, then Ford really didn't get the base model out in Fall '21. That's nothing to do with instant gratification whining and everything to do with clearly communicating delays.
Winter's two and a half months away. I think if hybrids are not delivered for another 2.5 months, we'll all probably agree they're delayed and they missed their promised fall delivery. I think a lot of us are just not ready to get all up in arms because of a couple week delay.

Some of the 'tibits' might be good information, or they might be mis-interpreted, or they might be outright trolling/misinformation. We don't know, and it's not 'naive' hold one's priors when new available information is of unknown or suspect sourcing. It's best to just hold tight and see what happens/wait for additional information.

As for Ford's communication, sure it could probably be more straight forward, but AFAIK they are still saying Oct for EPA approval followed by shipping. Unsourced bits of hearsay don't change that.

The live stream on October 6th the Ford spokesman definitely said it should be a couple weeks for EPA approval. Was he misinformed was that a lie?

I have no issues with 'negative comments' about the situation and the way you are writing this here is just fine...very adult like. What I take exception to is the spiraling that takes place centered around the conspiracy that Ford is doing a bait and switch for the purpose to sell more profitable 2.0L models. This somehow becomes 'truth' and the real reason.

The same folks that do this spiraling then yell 'fan boy' or even worse names at anyone that disagrees.

Discussions of all opinions should be welcomed and handled in a calm manner. It is, after all, an opinion that is being put forward and the response is also an opinion. One opinion is not 'right' and another 'wrong.' However, when knowledge is interjected in the conversation centered around 'feelings' it gets nasty.

For heavens sake we now have people making YouTube videos on the 'delay' and how Ford denies it but the 'forums' are filled with the truth of a conspiracy.

Sitting as an industry insider and watching the speculation on how things are launched is frustrating. Companies that supply vehicles are not in the business of NOT supplying vehicles yet the assumption immediately descends into how this was 'planned' by a greedy company. Any comments on how things actually happen and what may be going on from someone with experience is met with insults.

As a result I have curtailed my input and stay out of some threads entirely. The tech threads are mainly my only area of interest now. The mud slinging can go on in the rooms I don't watch anymore.

I wrote to Ford headquarters of course with no response, requesting if this was a EPA issue. I explained to Ford that if this is the case they should put it out as such, and all Customers could contact there representatives to get the EPA to perform there work. I think that we should contact our represenitives and put pressure on EPA this should make the EPA respond, this should answer if it is Ford or EPA. If it isn't the EPA then we will know it is Ford holding back on information about problems with the Hybrid. I will contact my represenitives tomorrow, I hope you all will do the same, hope we will get the truth soon.

There have been some dealers telling their customers that hybrid vehicles are delayed and won't be available for 6-8 months. Some saying there are thermal issues.

I want everyone to know they are NOT correct.

Hybrid scheduling and production continues each week.

OKTB (okay to buy) is pending EPA testing.

Information straight from the Maverick team.
So, If the Maverick Hybrid gets OKTB by 10/15, I’m taking credit for it……….. I just did a thing 😳

I try to remain optimistic, but anyone who says hybrids are not delayed is wrong. Many of us had estimated delivery dates that were taken from us. You cannot tell me they are not delayed when mine has been built for several weeks sitting in Mexico instead of in transit or in my garage.

I have been CC’d in the emails between them. I for my end will stop checking my email for a delivery until December.
BS, nobody in their right mind is going to CC somebody they don’t even know, leaking info that they were probably told not to. Would you risk your job for that?

Things that can happen and are never spoken of. EPA can request a retest on any already certified vehicles. Once upon a time EPA asked for a retest on a 50K vehicle. Now these vehicle are in a secure lot. Hoods are locked and sealed, all this is documented, witness and signed off.
So after retrieving vehicle hood still locked and sealed. Was discoverd engine and transmission were missing.
OMG
Local police and company security went nuts.

Bottom line that particular drive train had to be retested for 50K miles. Delayed delivery.

True story I watched it happen in real time. I had nothing to do with drive train dissapearing. Just went outside when police showed up and witnessd empty engine compartment.
