After 696 days (23 months), and I finally have my Maverick! What a pain to have to wait so long. Even my dad started telling me to give up and look for something else.
My 2001 Ranger had been limping along for the last 2 years, and I started driving my wife's old Elantra to work, because I was sick of shifting gears in Denver traffic. I started looking for a used truck in the beginning of '21, with no luck finding something I liked that i could afford. I gave up looking in May. Then in November, I decided to see what Ford had to offer in the Ranger.
When I found the Maverick, I thought this checks all the boxes on my list! I reached out the the dealership down the street, getting my order in with only days left to order a hybrid. They told me maybe a 3-4 month wait. If they only knew. Months and months of "We don't know any more than you." How is it similar hybrid builds ordered 8 months after mine were being delivered? Pathetic.
Well, in August I finally got a build date for Sept 4th. Sweet! Then I get a call, it's being pushed out to the 14th, the day the auto strike was supposed to start. Are you kidding me?! With a little prayer and some luck, it did get built, but would it get delivered? Then last Thursday, I had gotten a text at noon, that my truck showed up, but I didn't see it until after a fun happy hour with the boys. Damn! To top it off, I had to travel to Dallas early the next day and was gone all weekend. I wouldn't be able to pick it up. Alright, I've waited this long, Monday it is. Turns out, Monday was a holiday, dealer was closed for Columbus day! For crying out loud! Tuesday, after work, I rolled out just minutes before closing, finally!!! I no longer have to hear "So, what's up with your truck?"
Today was my first commute and I love it! The heated seats are amazing. My old Ranger had no power anything, just air conditioning and a cd player. Night and day difference. It's so nice to join the modern world. I have watched every video, read every review and planned and sketched all kinds of ideas for graphics, wheels, tint, you name it. The truck club has given me so many ideas. My wife says "What are you gonna watch when you get your truck?"
The red color is awesome. Because I'm a bit of a dork, I think I'm gonna do a Star Wars 'First Order' theme with the black and red. Maybe.

Hybrid? Hope you don't have a bad winter. Knowing is half the battle. Not very good in any real snow or ice without snow tires. Either get snow tires or be conservative where/when you drive it, IMO.

Such a nice color, congrats!

25 months and still waiting. Ordered the 22 then the 23 and last month the 24. Lariat hybrid.
That is just wrong. I have heard all the stuff here about allocations, constraints, yada yada yada. To Ford that is just plain indefensible. Again, just plain wrong. Is there no one within Ford that looks at this stuff and asks WTF???

LOL, that's funny. I've always had RWD in winters. I remember growing up in 1977 my sister bought a FWD 72 Toronado. What a winter beast that was compared to the old RWD on Bias plies. AWD for 90% of people is a waste of money. There are a few that need it. Hybrid is the preference for 2/3 of Maverick buyers.

Apologies, but that's absolute nonsense. I've been driving a front-wheel-drive Chevy Volt for the past three years and an Impala before that in snowy Nebraska. Am I planning to conquer a foot of snow off-road with my Maverick? No. But I've had zero issues with 6-8 inches of the white stuff in the last decade, so the Maverick Hybrid should handle it just fine.

I mean, snow tires are helpful, but I've been driving front wheel drive vehicles in Wisconsin winters for decades without issue.

I just love these two wheel drive versus all wheel drive arguments. I could read them all day. Hahahahaha.

Yes, indeed, living up here where we have 9 months of winter and 3 months of lousy skiing, I too have found winter tires to be "helpful" on more than one occasion. :ROFLMAO:

Congrats on your truck. I am picking mine up Saturday the 14th. Ordered mine Sept. 17 2022. Mine is the exact same thing. I am going to have winter tires installed just down the road from the dealership. Good luck with your Maverick. I am driving a 07 Focus wagon 5 speed manual shift with 256,000 miles on it. It has cruise and power windows and locks. Been a great car and plan to keep it until it dies.
