I have 48" Maxxima strip lights on the shelf if my truck ever gets built.Yes I did about 12” so they would fit the tie down rails. Plenty of light though.

Thanks for the link, saving for laterLooks good.
I did the same button in the same spot as well. I centred my magnetic switch by the hole middle and below the bed and fed the wires out of sight through the hole.
I purchased some additional 130 lb magnets on Amazon and placed one inside of the opening in the tailgate as I felt over time the other half of the magnetic switch might get knocked off loading and unloading stuff.

Works very well.
I used Forscan to change the 12v shutoff to 36,000 seconds giving me 10 hours before shutoff. Something I’d read Pastor_Zatx had done.
[UPDATE] Forscan Mod: Enable 12v Outlets Always Hot or Change Delay Variable
The oem gray plug used to insert into the light. I just made a Y plug and play pigtail so I didn't splice into factory harness.Do you have some photos of this pigtail you made? (Not trying to hijack the thread.)
Can you share a photo please?!Looks good.

Great design, thanks for sharing. I would love to copy it but the bed rug might get in the way.In the picture of the tailgate with the magnet switch you can see a rectangular opening.
I placed one of the magnets pictured inside lined up with the switch. No screws required.

Magnets ordered through Amazon Canada but I’m sure you can find them on Amazon USA.

The magnet is very strong and should pull through the bed rug. I went this route as the other half of the magnet switch wasn’t strong enough.Great design, thanks for sharing. I would love to copy it but the bed rug might get in the way.
Also how did you install the button? Did you just cut the wire for the Nilight button and rewire?
I appreciate the help! Going to give it a try with the bed rug.The magnet is very strong and should pull through the bed rug. I went this route as the other half of the magnet switch wasn’t strong enough.
As for the switch I left it intact and tucked it inside the 12 Volt access.
I tucked away inside the top channel of the bed on the driver’s side.Where would you put the switch that comes with the nilight itself? Some people have said at the 12v plastic entry in the bed, but I feel like that is going to stick out and get in the way if I put a lot of things in the bed. Maybe on the driver's side near the top? Amy ideas would be helpful. Thank you
So, on the driver's side, there's a small area at the top of the truck bed that leads into the brake light area. Is that where you fed it to become accessible to the truck bed?I tucked away inside the top channel of the bed on the driver’s side.
