I installed this LED light kit I found on Amazon. I connected it to the regular lights instead of the DRL's. I think it still looks pretty cool. Installation was a b@#*h. I had to drill holes into the grill to get the wires to the connection points. The wires on the lights were very small. I used solder and shrink tubing to add wiring so it would be long enough to reach. Install took me about 6 hours, but I'm 67 and had to take a lot of breaks.

Looks great .... I was a bit lazier and bought the Lariat trim edition, then changed the TS, reverse, brake, & 3rd to LED.

RefinedTruck.com sells the full kit for $85, includes shipping. Instruction video youtube...
I wish I had seen that video before I did my install. It would've saved me a couple hours and maybe a few less scrapes on my hands. According to that video, the only difference is where I connected my ground wires. I grounded to the truck frame instead of the headlight's ground. Drilling points were ~ the same. I used solder and shrink tubing instead of connectors to add wire to the light's wiring and the same t-taps for other connections.

Since there is someone on here selling this, I will not add a link or tell how much I paid.

What color is the power and ground wire going into the headlight.
Was going to hook up some led to mine and want to make sure in the color of the power and ground.
Thanks

If you watch RefinedTruck's video in post #2, he explains it better than I ever could. It took me a lot of trial and much error to get the right wires.

Here are the colors I tapped into:
Driver side:
red on LED to Brown/blue on headlight
black on LED to black on headlight (or chassis ground)
yellow (white in the video) on LED to yellow on turn signal

Passenger side:
red on LED to blue/green on headlight
black on LED to black/green on headlight (or chassis ground)
yellow (white in the video) on LED to blue/white on turn signal

I hope this helps clear it up for you.

Again, if you watch RefinedTruck's video in post #2, it will explain it step by step. If I had known this video existed 2 days ago, my install would've gone a lot smoother and saved me lots of time.
Note: where they used a white wire, I used yellow since that is the color on the LED lights.

My issue is driving me up a wall.

I followed this guide / refined trucks video perfectly:

"Passenger side:
red on LED to blue/green on headlight
black on LED to black/green on headlight (or chassis ground)
yellow (white in the video) on LED to blue/white on turn signal"

The issue is that I get absolutely nothing on the passenger side, when I test this same light on the driver's side it works fine, just nothing on the passengers. Tried rewiring it like 10 times with extra parts already.

P.S. I have an XLT

Anyone come across this yet?

LED could be faulty. Test it by placing the red and black wires directly to the battery and the LED should go through its startup sequence. If the LED works, try re-doing your t-taps. I had to re-do a couple of mine because they were not making a solid connection. Other than that, I don't know what to try. Maybe someone watching this thread can suggest something else to try? Keep us posted on what you find out.

Nailed it Garry.

I got some replacement t-taps, rewired it for the 10th time and it's alive!

Time for the next project :)

Glad you got it working! With this truck, the projects will not end until the money does.
