Ordered a hybrid Lariat in September of 2022
Received it in late March of 2023
At 900 miles on the odometer someone backed into me on a city street and dented left rear and tail gate and broke the blind side sensor. Never got a chance to get that fixed as we were still waiting on parts when: At 4,100 miles someone rear ended me hard enough to bend the frame. Thought it was fixable until yesterday when I got the news they are going to total it.

So I've had it for 6 months and 4,100 miles and now it's gone.

Talked to my dealer and they said they can still place an order for a 2024 but for a hybrid figure it will be a 2025, not a 2024.

So now do I order another Maverick and wait 18 months or so? Or order a '24 Ranger? Or something else? Really bummed. I really, really liked my Maverick.

It sounds like the person who totaled your vehicle (their insurance company) needs to make you whole with a ā€˜23 now...

So sorry that happened to you! I think I would cry if that happened to mine!

You can also call around to other dealers, and get a '24 hybrid ordered. Some still have allocations left even for hybrids.

Really sorry to hear about your bad luck. I hadn't looked into it too hard, but I thought the Rangers were just about as hard to get as the Mavericks. Are they any easier to buy?

Sorry about your awful luck.

Your dealer is being economical with the truth. They are out of 2024 hybrid allocations, but other dealers have available hybrid allocations and Ford corporate is still open for 2024 hybrid Maverick orders. That could end at any time so it’s probably best if you don’t delay.

Curious what the insurance payout on a Maverick would be considering you can't just go buy one off the lot for MSRP.

My hybrid Mav was totaled so I bought a '23 off the lot till my '24 gets in. The day I saw it I called the dealer and ordered a new one to get in the queue. Order one NOW.

I agree but no one has a hybrid Lariat sitting around. I'm going to make that point to the insurance company though.

My salesman said they do have some allocations left but he said at this late date it is highly unlikely I get a 2024 hybrid built. He did suggest getting the order in but told me to expect it to roll into 2025.
order both 😁
That's actually what I was thinking. The '24 Ranger sounds really nice and has a lot of pluses, but I would really miss that 42mpg.

As I understand it they are still taking orders but the plant that makes them is on strike, so no idea if/when they get caught up.

Probably right, my guy is a under-promise / over-deliver type. He did say they have a few hybrid alocations left, but he did not think they would get built even if ordered.

Me too, I'll find out next week. They better dazzle me with zeros or I am going to be even more upset.

My sales guy suggested that as well, and I might just do that. He doesn't have any Lariats but did have a couple XLT's but with 5k markup. Or I could just get something used to cover me until an ordered one comes in.

Check around. Hybrid Mavericks are becoming more plentiful. My local dealer in MN has ~50 allocations for MY24 Mavericks, but only 35 orders. If you ordered with them you could probably get a truck in 6 months or less.

Thanks, I think I'll be doing that next week. Have to wait to see what the insurance company pays out first. Not looking forward to paying that dealer market adjustment just because some jerk can't drive.

I’m not sure why your dealer would say this. As far as I know, Mavericks are not being built according to when the order was placed. Orders are just one big pool. Although roll overs are supposed to get higher priority. Besides allocation, supply constraints count too. Don’t order factory mud flaps or other items likely to be constrained. Also XL orders will probably remain over capacity.

No idea either though I can say he has had good info throughout unlike a lot of salespeople. He currently has a Maverick and has a 2024 on order. He noted that per his information hybrids are "over sold" compared to "expected production". But I'll put the order in anyway.

Had not thought of CarMax, I'll check that out thanks!

Wow! Just looked and they have 9 in stock. But all are at least $10k more than I paid for mine if you include delivery. Gonna have to wait to see what the insurance pay out is.
