Yes, this is normal. On both EcoBoost and Hybrids the resonator (used to be just before the tailpipe on early builds) was deleted in favor of the resonance patch seen here. All Mavericks going forward are built this way.

Very interesting and great article except for this: "the resonator is now installed on the Chevrolet Silverado, the best-selling U.S. large pickup."

My 2022 XLT EB has that too! I was wondering the same thing, it seemed like an afterthought at the factory.

I also noticed the lack of resonator at the end of the tailpipe too, my truck doesn't have one. So, it essentially looks like a straight-pipe from the muffler to the back. My initial thought was, "Sweet! A factory axle-back exhaust!" LOL 😂

Isn't that where you tie in the Afterburner option?

Possible to keep idiots from thinking the resonator is a very small cat?

Thanks, not sure if I like it though a screen in your tailpipe! Also when looking for exhaust leaks I would block the tailpipe with a rag to make the leak more apparent. Hopefully I won't have to do that with the Mav.

No resonator? Sweet, one less catalytic-convertor-looking-thing to get hacked off in the night. :p
