Of course, but it shows that FoMoCo had no idea but they will ride the storm. What's the saying 9 out 10 new ideas are a failure and 1 in 100 are "homeruns"...well it appears at this point that the Maverick is circling the bases. Ford wasn't ready and the supply chain wasn't ready. I do believe that you will see upgrades and changes on the Maverick get a lot of effort and research $$$.

Ford has the potential for a real cash cow here. I believe if they added a couple more trims, say an ST and limited with real upgrades to interior trim and features, I think they could sell more than just a few.

And finally an AWD Hybrid, probably announced just in time for whenever Toyota enters the compact truck scene.

I'm almost hoping my MY23 Hybrid order doesn't schedule so I can order an AWD Hybrid. Did I just say that out loud? I think I am delirious and need professional counciling o_O

I don't think they could go much more luxury than the lariat. You would have to change out a lot of the interior and completely undermine the "value" target.

Although, in theory, they could start with the Lincoln Corsair interior and change only what's needed to get it to fit and slap a "Platinum" badge on it.

Pretty clearly they could sell out Mavs with a $5k price increase, just look at used prices. We should be happy they haven't yet.

It was designed to be a cheap truck, so when they start adding more expensive luxury, it is going to do what the full size trucks have done - rise above what people can afford. I just wish they would produce a ton of what they are already producing, flood the market with them, and then the used prices would come down, as well as the ADM. Common sense and basic accounting says if you have a goal of XXX dollars profit, there are two ways to get there. One is to produce a few at a huge profit margin or a lot at a smaller profit margin. To put it in a more simple way. If you are a dealer and I am a dealer across the street and we both need to make $10,000 profit. You sell 10 vehicles, so you must make $1,000 on each one while I sell 100 vehicles and only need to make $100 on each one.
