Except, the drop-in bedliner. Is it worth upgrading to a spray-in, or is this drop-in better than the old junky drop-ins I'm thinking of?

Edit: looks like you can not get the spray-in with the xlt lux package.

Based on your description, the std AWD system is really all you need. The real question for you to decide is option content. I would start with an XL AWD 4K, and build from there until you have the option content (lux & comfort) you want.

If you don't want/need many of the driver upgrades, a base XL AWD 4K is a great value, and very capable. Each trim upgrade just adds more gadgets, and cost.

No bad choices, just what meets your needs/wants/budget. 🤠

Be sure to check out the constraints post. Trims and options chosen make or break your chances of getting a vehicle built.

That may be true. But the list of current constraints often changes by the week.

Get the SIBL (SprayInBedLiner) after you take delivery. Usually cheaper - and possibly better.
The Drop in comes with the XLT lux for 2024, and he's gonna want those heated seats

One thing not mentioned is whether your chosen dealer actually has any allocations left after the order banks have been open 50 days. Despite Ford telling dealers what their Maverick allocations were for 2024, there are already reports in the group that at least one dealer is still over-ordering, while those who have already ordered their allocation and stopped.

I talked with my small town dealer a couple weeks ago and he reported that he had only 2 Maverick allocations left.

So ask them directly if you order now...whether they have allocation enough for you to actually get one.

If your budget is up to $35K, I would go with:
  • XLT Ecoboost AWD
  • XLT Luxury Package to get the heated seats, mirrors, and steering wheel (since you are talking about mountain/snow daily driving).
  • 4K Tow Package
  • CP360 Package
The as-configured price with delivery is $33,800.
I went with this exact build on my 2022 and it is a really great truck. Love the Lux package options for the colder months and the AWD system with the tow package is really capable. The icing on the cake is the CP360 driver assist option. Some will say they don't need it but for the price it is well worth it. Lower insurance rates and higher resale value will help off set the initial price which isn't very much anyway.

I live in southern California. Thus, I didn't need the cold weather items or many other features in the XLT luxury package. Plus, I don't like the standard XLT interior.

Thus, as another person posted, I would order an XL EB AWD with the 4K Tow and CP360 and buy one for under $30K if I did it over again.

Totally understandable but the first build you posted is a really solid choice. For someone in a cooler climate who is looking to spend a little more your first post was spot on IMO.

I should have mentioned the basis of the comment.

I purchased a 2022 XL Hybrid originally. I didn't like the Hybrid+CVT combination and the rear suspension of the 2WD. I also don't need the hybrid MPG because I don't drive that much. Thus, I sold it when I ordered my 2023.

The 2023 is an Ecoboost AWD with the CP360 and 4K Tow. I don't like the standard XLT interior and splurged to get the Black Appearance Package. Don't get me wrong, the truck is amazing.

My comment, therefore, was a suggestion of what I would order if I did it again. The caveat is that I don't need most of the features someone in a cold climate would want to order. I like the XL's interior, I like the steel wheels, and an XL version would have served my needs just as well as my current XLT EB AWD BAP does.

All I can speak to is availability and price (I have an XLT hybrid). You're not going to find a demo on any Ford dealer's lot, but I was able to find three to rent on Turo (https://turo.com) here in the Tampa Bay area. Had the exact one I wanted for three days and loved it.

If you're not getting the hybrid, it should be normal order time to get what you want (4-6 weeks, on average). I waited 19 months for my hybrid, and I feel it was worth it. If you're getting high price quotes in your area, along with excessive dealer fees and you're not afraid to travel, check out Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester, NY, and ask for Steve Miller. I paid invoice (about $700 below sticker), plus $199 dealer fee and temp tag- that was it. Compared to what the local Florida dealers wanted, the savings paid for my trip up and back with some cash to spare. Very ethical dealer, very upfront with everything.

If your not planning on adding packages that need the XLT the XL with copilot 360 is the way to go in 24. Your giving up the rear seat armrest, power tailgate lock and getting steel wheels that are a cheap upgrade if you dont like them. IMHO the 24 XL interior is better looking than XLT. But you wil likley wait longer for an XL.

If you go XLT I would add the FX4 package just for the tow hooks that also have extra bracing in the front and the 6.5 inch screen. My build before the tremor was released was XLT, 4k, FX4 with the machined wheels and 235/65 tires. I think the lux package is a waste. $2200 for a few heated bits and power seats. You have remote start on all trims, if it's that cold start it a few minutes early.

It adds a bit more than just a power seat and a few heated bits...

8 way powered drivers seat and 6 way passenger seat, 400w/110v plug in cab and bed, body colored mirror caps, Active X wrapped steering wheel, led box lighting, remote start that is WAY more reliable than FordPass, trailer hitch, and a bed liner plus all those "heated bits".

Like heated seats, a heated steering wheel that doesn't feel like cheap garbage in your hand like the stock one, heated mirrors all of these options for $2200 ain't bad at all.
