The assumption is that the hybrid was selected for confirmatory testing by the EPA, or it would have been released with the EB.The EPA dyno lab has NEVER directly tested every new vehicle on the road.

Yup. But I'm assuming you've misunderstood the math here.Two-thirds of the new vehicles the EPA does test are selected randomly
If it was on the internet it must be true, right? That's good info. I only know a guy who knows a guy who swears it's true.
Good to get some hard data...![]()
The Delicious Marshmallow ConspiracyNah, I don’t buy it. I still think leprechauns stole the EPA data. Ford has shady history of exploiting Leprechauns for cheap labor, their pots of gold, and their delicious marshmallow cereal. It really shouldn’t surprise anybody they stole the data. My sources told me the 2022 models won’t be delivered until January of 2024. Yeah, true story. I know a guy who swears it’s true.
… not to mention, what does the Fordvideoguy know anyway… besides, well, just about everything about Mav production.![]()
Auto companies test 50k vehicles in most popular trim. Later they test 4k vehicles with different axle ratios. EPA picks and chooses what they want to validate. If they choose a 4k vehicle with a higher numerical axle ratio and it too far off. Thats a problem. If it was on the internet it must be true, right?
I was told December. I ordered 9/7 so I'm not holding my breath! : )I was told that late October, most likely November and possibly December are when I can expect my hybrid XL. Is that still a reasonable time frame given what you know?
Thanks.
While I would expect Ford to be at least partially at fault, it's pure speculation to attribute 100% of the blame to either Ford or the EPA.. We don't know the whole story. This is misinformation.
See my previous reply.
Thx for confirming this. I'd not seen the official doc on that. Good to know the hold-up is not emissions. Also the EPA has certified the Maverick HEV FWD in conformity of the clean air act as of July 30th

Thank you for the update. There have been some dealers telling their customers that hybrid vehicles are delayed and won't be available for 6-8 months. Some saying there are thermal issues.
I want everyone to know they are NOT correct.
Hybrid scheduling and production continues each week.
OKTB (okay to buy) is pending EPA testing.
Information straight from the Maverick team.
I got a hammock too…..maybe I will get a maverick one to match my bronco one. They did this 5 times already with the Bronco delays heck I even got a free Hammock from them -)
