The production delays are less about supply chain issues and more about profitability, other hybrid manufacturers are not having these issues. Mavericks are made at the same plant as the ultra profitable Bronco and Ranger. Mavericks are fill ins as there isn’t much margin in them. At least until a dealer marks them up 25% over MSRP.

Good luck to the carryovers.

It is still open because Ford told dealerships their allocation before the banks opened. So, dealers likely took fewer orders in total because they knew how many they were going to get. Ford closed banks last year because dealers loaded up the order banks.
No dealer ever stopped taking orders because they didn't have enough "allocations". No dealer ever said "Oh no, I can't take your order because we are out of allocations".
Just as Ford takes way more orders than they can make, dealers will take any orders that walk thru the door regardless of their allocations.
There is no reason not to other than their reputation.
So we can try to assign reasons for this or that to happen or not to happen and in real life that can be done.
But this is Ford and their dealerships.

There are many that have done just that?

There is no reason to waste time placing an order that you know won't be scheduled. Evidence is pretty abundant that dealers, in general, stopped taking orders when their allocations ran out.

That is 2022 thought. This year is different. Dealers know their allocations for 2024MY. My dealer has only 2 spaces left for 2024 Mavericks and knows it.

Salesman i ordered from in Vegas claimed he;s
never heard of allocations. I ordered a xl eco awd with bedliner and a few other add on's a day after order banks opened. Then reading about possible shortage of add on's i went back and ordered an xlt with awd and bedliner only and had them take the add on's off my xl order, left awd and bedliner on it.
sp whichever gets built first i'll take. Hoping it's the XL and i'll order whatever add on's i want and install myself.
$500 deposit on both and both at msrp.

I placed a new order for a 2024 at MSRP the first day Order Banks were open last month.
I was waiting outside the dealership on the first day of ordering for MY2023.
Still don't have it and won't get it.
First come first serve means nothing with Ford.
If you ordered what many of us great unwashed want - the hybrid without all the bells and whistles - that isn't profitable to ford, you will never get it.
Now if you have the lariat gas only engine with the butt warmers and I don't know what other stuff for $40,000 you'll get it.

Curious, has anyone placed a totally new MY24 order for MSRP or less?
I'm wondering with the current allocation situation that dealers may be getting their ADM up front.
I did. MSRP. BTW my dealer was allocated 62 2024s they could sell. They also had 23 2023s carried over. I'm No. 1 for 2024s.

Bought X-plan for my 2023 (was an X-plan 2022 order) and ordered X-Plan again for a 2024. My dealer has played no games with orders.

I put an order for a new '24 XL at MSRP on Jul 31st. Dealer said he had allocations still and to expect delivery around Nov/Dec. I joined this forum shortly after, and from reading here, I know his month estimate is BS. Should I assume my XL won't be built due to Retail USOB exceeding capacity for XL orders? I don't mind waiting til next year for it, but I don't want to wind up in a rollover situation like many of you all have. Thanks.
