My point and I think the op's is that this should NOT come from the factory this way. I get that they want to get the highest possible gas mileage for marketing purposes. That's for normal mode. I drive exclusively in sport mode and the transmission was programmed by a f___g moron.
I'm with him on the transmission and the knob control. Biggest problem is the coders who worked on the transmission must not know how to drive. What a mess. I spend all my time in sport mode now rather than lug the engine all day.
Been there, done that. Track would be fine if the org running things would use the entire track. It would be an outstanding run for your car. I'll take Blackhawk for a shorter track - 2 miles.
If you want to eat brake pads try Road America. 130-135 going downhill into a 90 and another from the...
Thank you for answering my questions without me having to ask. I have a 2.0 with the tow package and a 2020 Civic Type R that I would love to tow to Gingerman! Road America is my home track - less than an hour away.
Also are you planning on Road America May 1 or 23? I should be there both days.
My top ten cars in order of fun:
10. 70 Chevy Chevelle SS 396
9. 1980 Honda Civic Manual
8. 2024 Ford Maverick and mainly for its engine - certainly not for its handling!
7. 1986 Honda Accord - There's a reason they are named Car and Driver cars of he year often
6. 1964 Chevy Corvair - 4" of...
This is what I have noticed also. This vehicle is just plain numb. There is virtually no feedback to the driver.
When I see comments of how well this truck handles I have to laugh. Yes, its better than a full size truck, but no it does NOT handle well.
I've discovered that part of the problem...
This is why I read Car and Driver. Comparing what they said the truck would be to what I found is pretty much spot on. Peppy spartan truck which if equipped right proves fairly useful and a good value. Now will it last?
I'm afraid you'll have to get used to a regular routine like me unless you want to invest in an OBD software toolset. The first three you have to do before you engage the stupid shift turn knob. Takes about a half a minute.
1. Go to setting menu.
2. Drivers assistance
3. Uncheck emergency...
I'm close to the same routine - but I've added turning off all the nannies. Autobrake disabled - this turns off another as well, traction control off, then I buckle up and go.
I'm coming up on my third refuel. I've got a 2.0 with AWD and 4K tow. Got 23 mpg for the first two weeks then 20.5 over the next two weeks of Dec., and it looks like next one will be 19 mpg or so. Temps were fine for all of Dec., but we haven't even been up to 10 degrees for 5 days now in Jan...
No, the system on this truck sucks. I make sure I disable it via the dash display before I put it in drive. I also disable auto stop/start, and traction control. It seems they've used the cheapest coders they could find. Only thing I've found that seems to work well are the auto dimming headlights.
Did you have any extras that would slow the built process? ie mudflaps, cover
BTW I was very surprised by how quickly it made it here. I could kind of tell after it was shipped that the updates to the page were more frequent than I thought they would be. Then about 3-4 days before it arrived...
I think in actuality if the timing is right some parts of this process can go the way it should. I probably was the first truck off the train and they needed one more for the truck carrier to fill it up and head north to Chicgo, Milwaukee, etc. Just dumb luck or lack of from what I've been...
