That's what I am trying to find out. I saw this posting . My was schedule for production on 8/23, but my tracker updated on 8/2 as being in production. So I thought it was going to be done early, but after reading this post about "summer shutdown", I thought then that puts me back into the week of 8/23

In the same boat: Production week was fluctuating 8/23-8/25, then saw In Production yesterday. Can't find any info on plant shutdown for 2023 but it makes sense, as this looks like something Ford does to most of its plants every summer.

It was posted somewhere earlier in June but can not find it. However if you look at the scheduling e-mails from 6/15 which covered the period from 7/24 through 8/28 no one got scheduled for the weeks of 8/4 or 8/14

I thought they were already closed for a couple of weeks in July. We need more action and less idle chatter! Just saying, get the lead out!

I got my VIN and was scheduled for August 22nd so if they do shut down I hope their restart will be seamless and successful.

Mine went into production 10 or so days early back in March. Could be earlier than expected delivery of restraint items, or fewer line stops than expected.

Not sure about Ford, but some factories shut down for 2 weeks during the summer and all eligible employees must take their vacation days at the same time.

They occasionally shut down the factories to retool the production line in preparation for building a different model or maintenance. They are probably shutting down to either start building more Broncos or Mavericks as the stamping and building equipment for the two models are different.
I recently visited Ford’s River Rouge facility in Dearborn, Michigan and they have production shut down calendars listed at the factory like this.


The Dearborn Truck Plant will not be in active assembly during these dates in 2023, following the plant’s holiday and maintenance schedule. The dates include but aren’t limited to:

• January 16
• April 10
• May 29
• July 3 – 9
• September 2 – 4
• November 7
• November 11
• November 23 – 26
• December 24-31

I worked for a tier 1 supplier for Ford for 30 years they always have a summer shutdown ,most of the time for two weeks we had to use 1 weeks vacation the 2nd week most people used as a waiting week for Unemployment. They also shut down between Christmas and New Years with pay. I always considered that a nice job perk , It made up for the week of vacation used during the summer shutdown.

If they are I just got lucky since mine went to plant 7/27 and the modules popped yesterday evening so it’s alive! Now I hope it’s still on track to ship without a two week delay
