Sucks to see the XL is so constrained. I get the higher trims are probably better margin for Ford but not everyone wants to spend $35-40,000 on a $25,000 truck.
But the good news is the longer it takes to build my XL the longer I can save up lol

I’m just hoping the Lariat Hybrid I ordered doesn’t take more than 6 months. However, the longer I wait, the larger the downpayment.

It's coming up on 11 months and not a clue. Never have I found it so difficult to spend my own money . I just want to buy a nice truck for the wife and I. I've never been this patient in my life, so I guess I'll sit here with y'all !

I can't believe that after all this time mud flaps and a tow hitch are still on the constraint list. Ford needs to re-staff their purchasing dept.
Remember when Ford created, owned and ran rubber tree plantations in South America (Fordlandia) and forged their own steel in River Rouge MI?
Now a bunch of college graduate kids can't source simple items like rubber mud flaps or a chunk of steel hitch?
Or floor mats - wow, floor mats?

For mud flaps and other accessories dealers can install, it's not the purchasing

For tow hitches it is the electronics (chip shortage) that drives the trailer electrical connector.
And yet you can order and have any of these things delivered to your front door tomorrow.
And anyone having mudflaps installed at a dealership needs to have their head examined.
Do they install floor mats too?

You are in for a world of hurt if you think 6 months.
There are still people who don't have their 2022 hybrid.

My take is that if you order an gas XL with hitch or AWD/4K, you'll likely be ahead of many many hybrid XL orders with hitch. Looks like there will be lots of extra Ecoboosts being made.
Like the way yer thinkin. When I rolled my 23 order (9/20/22) to a 24 (7/17/24), I changed XL hybrid with tow hitch to XL Ecoboost with AWD & 4K tow pkg. 🤞🏻

The attraction of this truck for you must be how it looks.
Because those are two completely different vehicles - the hybrid and the gas engine AWD extra towing.

I REALLY WANTED the hybrid. Until I didn't.

Once I let go of hybrid (so I could expect to actually GET a truck before I die tryin'), it followed readily to add AWD & the 4K tow package. Thanks for your valuable input. 👍🏻

Off topic, but I'm pretty sure that my XL will be more expensive with x plan...
