Perhaps it is maximum capacity. So if Ford can produce 2,000 trucks this week, they cannot produce more than 1,000 hybrids. Likewise, they cannot produce more than 1,300 turbos. So they will produce between 700-1,000 hybrids and between 1,000-1,300 turbos. And no more than 500 will be XL series.
ok, that makes some sense. thank you.

Looks like Ford still has not fixed the ridiculous shortage of tow hitches and splash guards. What a disaster that has been on getting orders scheduled. I even removed the splash guards from my order last year and it made no difference.
shortages of these kind of piss ant components constraining production is what led the original Henry Ford to embrace vertical integration throughout his entire supply chain back
in the day. when he had too many issues getting enough parts and pieces to make as many vehicles as people wanted to buy that he knew he could produce as he had implemented the moving assembly line into his factory (contrary to popular belief he did not invent it).

that was the impetus behind the River Rouge Complex which is now known as the Dearborn Plant. at the time of its opening it was the largest industrial manufacturing complex ever built.

need more steel?, buy iron mines and build your own foundry, rubber for tires? buy and create rubber tree plantations in South America & Asia. and whatever else you need, you try to make yourself or you buy the Co. that can make it. Robber Baron Capitalism, but efficient none the less.

raw materials went in one end and finished vehicles came out the other end at a up until then unheard of rate. now the only constraint on the supply side is how fast can i run the damn line(s) without building too much junk. i can sorta give Ford a pass for 1st year model Mav launch miscalculations, after all NO ONE knows for sure if ANY vehicle you designed 3 or 4 yrs ago is going to sell like our beloved little truck has so far.
this is Mass Production 101, not Planetary Orbital Mechanics(real rocket science) so i'm at a loss as to why Ford isnt acting more aggressively to sort out their supply chain issues.
by now Ford would do well IMHO to be ramping up production in order to start flooding American streets with as many Mav's as the market will bear while not abandoning those 'entry level' customers and other bargain shoppers out there that would gladly buy as many as Ford could make as fast as they can make them.

This is for MY23, so these are the percentages from last year's order banks and not the recent price increase and base model change. Hopefully when the MY24 production begins, the numbers will be more in line with what was announced, as dealers were given their allocations and product mixes ahead of time.

As for the percentages, I assume adding the third shift and taking too many orders meant they shifted to 115% of their original intended production.
thanks, i hadnt considered that.

I keep seeing these pop up on here. I feel stupid asking the question, but I'm pretty smart so if I have this question I'm sure others do too.

What are the key things I need to know about as someone waiting on an order of an XLT?
