I am happy to see the ecoboost getting great mileage.

With my hybrid this spring and summer - and last spring and summer - I am getting 50+ MPG on my 32 mile commute.

During the colder months it averages 44 mpg.

As far as recalls with the hybrid - nothing to worry about. Should not dissuade anyone from going the hybrid route.

It's all political. If you're in a really blue area or really red area, get the Hybrid. Pretty much everybody else in between is Eco boost.:sneaky:

NOBODY needs a hybrid!
Those EB numbers are so good why anyone in their right mind would buy a hybrid is beyond me.

Do not buy a hybrid, I beg you.
BUY AN ECOBOOST!

I repeat, BUY AN ECOBOOST!

Just change your build sheets to an EB. Change now, while there‘s still time. Call your dealer and ask to change your hybrid order to an EB, don’t delay!

Why wait for a hybrid? Avoid the long lines and change over to an EB!

If you are on the fence about which one to buy, don’t be. Just get the EB. You’ll be glad you did!

Be sure to buy an EcoBoost.

You’d be stupid not to buy an EB instead of a hybrid.

Please! Don’t buy, or place an order for a hybrid!

Ecoboost owners rule!

Nobody likes their hybrids anyway!

Just buy an EB and leave those ridiculous hybrids to the losers.

(Heh, heh)
Preach.

I put 300K miles on a Ranger and this is so true. It was a 2.5 4cyl with the stick and it was dog slow but never needed anything.
Was that the one with 8 spark plugs. I had one. Yeah, slow, but I liked it with that SuperCab. 4 of those plugs were a pita.
I get that without trying...on a 107° day....while driving like a bat outta hell...in city traffic.

I love my hybrid, thank you.

I'm purple and I love my hybrid. Have a load of manure in it now and it hauls just fine.

I drove a C-Max 500 miles a week on the highway for almost 100,000 miles. Definitely not what it was designed for but still averaged just under 40 mpg @ around 75-80 mph. Had we purchased an equally equipped Focus for example, for less $$, I still believe we came out in the long run and the C-Max was very comfortable and trouble free. Every time I got stopped in a traffic jam, most everyone else in a regular (non hybrid) auto was taking a hit on their mileage. My mpg would increase during this time, not that I liked the traffic mess 😡.
When we ordered the Maverick, I wanted to get an AWD and had retirement coming up soon. No regrets on my choice, either one, get what works best for you.

My fathers put about 5,000 miles in his 2023 XLT Hybrid maverick.
He drives almost exclusively all freeway to his job.
He’s averaging over 47 mpg over the 5k miles.
OP- Still impressive mileage for a turbo truck!!
Have Mav-ing!

That’s insane, glad it’s working for you. It’s a work truck that gets driven a lot, mostly highway, so probably not as good of a fit. Plus the wait time to get one made it a no-go. My personal ride I might do a hybrid.
Definitely many valid reasons to get an ecoboost. With the current wait and price change, we might have considered an ecoboost today - although likely would have gone with another hybrid sedan (as long as it could fit our camping gear, paddlebaords, and capability of putting a decent bike rack).

Gaslighting and optimism are 2 difft things.....

Cheers ;)
Doubt all you want, on-board computer says 51.2mpg in the first 8k miles. Almost every single tank has gone >700 miles. About half of those miles are my wife's all highway work commute, and she has no concern for fuel efficiency (I obviously do). i definitely have to play all the little games (use slippery mode, not go over speed limit, coast down hills to kick into electric, etc.) to get highway mileage like that - I admittedly drive mindfully, with efficiency in mind - but I am not the only member of this forum averaging >50mpg overall in the hybrid. Around town and on rolling hill roads (which we have a ton of in my area), it takes little effort to get >50.

OP and I have different purposes. The Maverick is our primary family adventure vehicle; we fill the bed with camping gear, our bikes, our paddleboards, and my wife takes it to work a few times a week. But we're not towing anything or "driving like a bat out of hell" with a bed full of tools on highway runs. The ecoboost appears to be pretty darn fuel efficient for a pickup, but under "normal conditions" the hybrid destroys it in efficiency. We all have different needs and wants for our vehicles, mine is just different than OPs and the offshoot is significantly better efficiency. I'm certainly glad the eco meets OPs needs.

It’s loaded with 500-1000 pounds of tools and equipment daily and lives on the highway including Chicago winters. A hybrid I don’t think would return super high numbers in my case.
Heck, I've got 30,000 pounds of bananas in my Maverick Hybrid right now and getting the same great MPG as before.
