There has been a lot of anecdotal evidence about falling Maverick prices on the secondary market. With the 2024 order bank currently open -- and, surprisingly, no talk of it closing yet -- it would seem there is still opportunity for anyone who really wants a Maverick to order one at MSRP and get it exactly how they want. Granted, the 24 prices are higher than 22 or 23, but...

...that brings us to the secondary market on used Mavericks. I got the email below from a local dealer today.

Ford Maverick Falling Retail Prices? Here's Some Evidence IMG_5A38F74A0DF7-1

They dropped the price on this used XL from a hugely inflated $35K to a still inflated $31k. It's definitely still not a "deal" by any means. However, there is no denying these trucks are sitting on the lot longer than they were, and it's getting harder and harder to find people willing to pay thousands over sticker. As many others have said, I believe the era of crazy Maverick markup and easy profit for flippers is coming to an end.

Id say a $6700 markup on a used is still more than the 5K above MSRP for a new one most dealers were asking. But you are right, I think i is less about demand and more about the economy - interest rates and inflation.

Not seeing any price drops on hybrids.

That’s probably a ploy to get you in the door. Highly doubtful they sell at that price.

Look at the RV market. Prices are dropping big time. It is rippling in to the vehicle market too. First EV's dropped, now ICE vehicles too are starting to drop.

Likely to depend on local market. My dealer has two used Lariats "marked down" but still more than I paid for mine new. And mine has more added options.

I saw a very similar offer (2023 XL hybrid in Atlas Blue for $31,060) on FB marketplace yesterday from a semi-local dealer (still in my state, I'm just at the eastern edge of it), while a dealer in town has eight (seven in-transit) they are still trying to sell at "market adjusted" prices. Their market adjustment is $7,500, and only two out of the eight are hybrids.

Gotta drop the price when you're asking 50% over MSRP...and it's used, too.

My guess is the higher interest rates are really making folks think twice about buying a new vehicle.

Or people are starting to realize its insane to give a dealer imaginary money simply because they asked. I really cant wait to see whats going to happen when the people who paid $5-10k over for a 22-30K vehicle end up underwater when the hype/market adjusts.

Only people who are underwater is those who trade with negative equity. I’m keeping mine for several years.

That's still a lot of money for an XL. This truck should be in the $25-28K range. An XL should never cost over $30K even with the current hype/high demand. The original price was the same as my Lariat with options at MSRP! No thanks!

I will be keeping mine for a couple of decades based on prior history. I am 70 years old so it should work out just fine.
