If you are waiting for your 2023 Maverick, when you pick it up, ask your dealer for the front license plate bracket. It is free on the 23's, but optional at a cost on the 2024's. You may not need it, but the next owner may live in a state with front and rear plates. I'm in Florida (no front plate), but my son lives in New York and will need it when he gets it my Maverick.

I believe it is No-cost in states that require a front plate, but extra cost in states that don't. That is my understanding.
This is correct. If your state requires it, it should be delivered to you installed at no charge and listed as such on the “optional equipment/other” section of your window sticker.

My dealer asked me if I wanted them to drill holes. I said no. I’ll figure it out. I have seen them ruin the finish.

I specifically asked for the same and noted it several times in my communications. My rep said I should contact the service department when I see the truck getting close to let them know. I appreciate his honesty in not promising me, but I really wish he could put a note someplace saying not to install the bracket. I haven't run a front plate for many years (aesthetic reasons). Last car I bought off the showroom floor so I had to install bumper plugs, which worked great and still looked better than a plate, but nothing beats a fresh, never-molested, front bumper. A lot of high end cars don't run them, and with the number of Tesla's not running them, I think it's become a non-issue unless you're doing something stupiud and asking to be pulled over.

I did the same thing. I told my dealer at time of ordering and on EVERY touch-point after that just reminded him. He called to let me know the truck was delivered and they were about to do their PDI and when I picked it up he was proud that his team remembered not to drill it and I have a beautiful un-touched front bumper, lol.

I saw somewhere that license plate bracket was no longer a standalone option. Does this mean they are going to start installing from the factory? I’d like to forego it entirely but order sheet has no option.

I put it in my order for my 23 and insisted they have it installed. Then I added a lamp bracket installed upside down, my vanity plate and a 420w triple row led for when I arrive at a campground at night to help set up, ending up like this:

I live in Florida, but bought the truck in New York. I specifically asked that they NOT install the front plate bracket, but guess what? As their service dept. is used to installing them on EVERY vehicle they sell, and despite the notes/ signs/ stickers my salesperson put on or in the truck, it has a front plate bracket. I said no big deal (hey, if that's the WORST thing that can go wrong...), but without my asking they didn't charge me for the hood deflector I had ordered.

No, for 2024s if your state requires one the dealer will order one through their parts department.

LOL, I picked up my '23 Friday and the bracket was on the back seat..

My registered state Maryland "requires' a front tag, I've had zero issues on my Viper since 2016 and none on my TRX, so "thanks for asking, no thanks"

All brackets are zero cost options depending on state of order.
