Sounds like you weren't looking for a truck to begin with if you think there are more economical equivalents. What truck is out there getting 40 mpg for $25,000 - $30,000?

PHEV can handle many peoples needs with no gas usage each day and the few times they go long distances they have a gas engine to get them to their destination without hoping to find a charger. That's why they are included in the rebate program. Or me I could go 51 weeks a year without using any gas.
I have not had one but someone posted here that they automatically ran on occasion just to insure that gas did not get stale.

So when you do sales those do they count in the monthly sales for ford ? Or how does that work ? It counts a maverick sold regardless of model year right ?
They are not sold until delivered to buyer and may not count towards earning new allocations if too many are sold to persons that were not on COVP.

You are correct. From the 2017 C-Max Energi (PHEV) manual:
Ford Maverick Reports from a salesperson (low order numbers for 2024 Maverick) 1690172653247

If you check around this forum, it appears that Ford gave dealers allocation numbers, so they aren't overselling. Once the dealer has sold enough, they are done. So if you want one, it is a matter of finding a dealer who has allocations left.
that was (finally) a great idea. Ford had the data to do this last year too but just let everyone run wild. It's good they're getting around to using the info they have to straighten out this ordering process

Truth be told is we the car sales people don't want to give out empty promises, not get trucks scheduled, get a shit ton of angry phone calls on where is my Maverick and make $100 at the end. I called the two people that really wanted a Maverick and those are the orders I've submitted. Our dealership was allocated 8 Hybrids anyway, so why even bother

Even with competing models, the maverick will still have strong sales, due to price and fuel economy. Of course they won't be "crazy" like the past 2+ years, but strong enough to sell every maverick built in the near future. Ford doesn't need or probably WANT the craziness of the past 2+ years of mavericks, pissing off customers who leave and don't come back, they just need and want to sell every maverick they can at msrp with no incentives. Just my .02
Couldn’t agree more. You have been a voice of reason. Mavericks are here to stay. 👍

Not sure how many are being sold at our local dealership, but every one that comes in is accounted for per the service folks. No inventory on the lot; they aren't there long enough. And even though we live in a smaller town we are seeing more and more of them.

You only make $100 selling a Maverick? If that's the case how are some dealers able to sell custom orders for $1000 below MSRP? Perhaps sales people should join the UAW :)

A loaded Maverick has a little less than $1000 mark up. This is what sales people usually get paid on. It is about 20% commission, but that also depends on the dealership. Now how many people order fully loaded Mavericks?

If you are wondering how they are able to sell it for thousand under MSRP then check your dealer preparation fees and doc fees

If you keep the title less than 6 months, suppose Ford could disable your ability to participate in future x-plan pricing.
And how exactly does Ford Know if you kept a Title for 6 months???

Is what you are describing an actual clause in X-Plan pricing requirements and restrictions (if yes, please cite accordingly).

Anyone can suppose anything, but try to keep it reasonable.

I usually feel its management that ends up creating dirty dealing sales folks. Looked at a dealership that was selling cars at MSRP, but had $7000 of dealer ad-ons that they indicated weren't up for debate. I really don't understand what dealership owners are thinking sometimes.

See that, but don't see anything about 6 month requirement.

Or even 6 month's and a day either.

Also the language "May be required to reimburse....." No teeth in that.

Any type of non negotiable add-ons on a ordered vehicle are poor business. Now if a Maverick gets abandoned that's a different story. Otherwise we could just call our buddies and have them buy a Maverick, turn around and sell it to Carvana, before they even made their fist payment. That's where the market adjustment comes in place. Supply and demand

My wife and I are retired and are getting Social Security.

The last two years we got increases (raises) of 5.9% in 2022 and 8.7% in 2023 or 15.1% total compounded.
My wife and I are 80 and got those ss increases and I got the 8.7% on my va disability. We have had to cut back on our eating out due to 40-60% increase there. Our weekly trip to grocery store is up about 80%. The bottom line is the SS increase was not enough to cover inflation. I feel for those who for some reason have not been able to increase their income. Perhaps it's time to have a serious talk with employer. However I have learned in my 80 years it's not what you earn as much as it's what you do not spend. In 1980's I knew a guy who drove a 20+ year old Volkswagen buying insurance and driving it for three weeks on vacation to visit his mother, cancelling insurance when he got back. Put back on blocks in garage until following year. Had no AC in house and kept thermostat at 50-52°F in winter. Was divorced (I'm not sure why?). Rode bicycle to work even in snow which got his picture in newspaper. Turned burner off on gas water heater and left pilot on to take chill off water for showers. Volkswagen got pretty rusty so one year he painted it green with a foam brush. We had a pot at the office for how much the paint job on car cost but we never could find out so just bought donuts. He made pretty good salary and no one ever saw him spend much.
Yeah hate it that unemployment is lowest since WW2 and real wages are up.

My main sales rep at my local Ford dealership told me that she’s only had 7 orders so far. Last year they 60 in the same time period. This is the entire dealership, 7 orders. I know it’s antidotal but that’s pretty shocking. What are you all seeing?

I may have been right…Only the official numbers will tell though.

People who could pay outright or over 75% and could wait got one. Now with high-interest rates, higher pricing, and still long waits why order one?
