While cool, the cost to do something like that would put it in an MSRP category it just couldn't compete at.

Imagine a high performance Maverick with the 3.0 TT from the Ranger Raptor.....

I like it. But how about vented seats for us Southerners?

Once you get to Shelby Maverick, if you have to ask the price...

Give me a small block V8 Maverick looking like this with a Boomer-era shaker hood scoop and I'll pay anything. Yea, I want to relive my youth before I'm buried... Cruising past all those Telsas with my Maverick's hood shaking like a Harley and annoying everyone in range with the socially unacceptable "thumpa thumpa" sound.

I'm a huge BEV fan, and I'm actually a polite citizen. But I still have a place in my heart for ICE outrageousness now and then. I always get a smile when the local bad boys unleash their $100,000 Dodge "I wanna be a NASCAR driver" rides on the local interstate, and you can hear them a mile away.

The front end is just 5% percent too aggressive and a real Shelby should be a bit brighter. Replace some of the black with white, and some of it with body color. I think a tuned 2.3 with a redesigned turbo and completely revised exhaust system and larger intercooler making around 390 hp/tq would be perfect. Also needs larger F/R sway bars, strut bracing, revised shocks, the Tremor rear differential, and of course a 6 speed available.

Sell 3 models, through Shelby.
1. Appearance and handling, comes with everything but the 2.3/6spd. 290hp/315tq
2. Full Shelby as spec'd above 390hp/400tq
3. Turbo upgrade with limited warranty 480hp/500tq

With AWD it would keep up with a Hellcat to 150mph! Probably limit the top speed to around 150-160 because of truck aero.

It would be built by Shelby, not Ford. Cost? $89,995. Plus $20,000ADM.

You wouldn't need to speed limit it, as aero drag would take over. The run from 140-155 in my Lightning was a lot slower, but it did get there.

Could even sell it as a package for $25k and it would still be a bargain performance vehicle. You pack that power in AWD under 4000lbs and it will be mythical like Evos were in the millennium.

So, basically, another Maverick with plastic crap stuck all over it, decals up the azz, and lowered.

And, presumably, some engine modification for more HP. Since Ford would for warranty reasons have to match all the other components to deal with that HP increase, the price increase would start putting you in the ballpark of an actual, engineered from the ground up performance vehicle.

Why not just get a Mustang? Or an Edge ST if you want AWD?
