Maverick loses big to the Tacoma would be an alternate title.

The Tacoma will always be number 1 mid size truck . They make so many of them . It’s Toyota main truck . I’d hope they out sell truck that has had limited production . The taco has barley changed in last 5 years as well .

Mid size trucks are having big issues selling 1. Price 2. Size of them 3. Mpg.
the Tacoma at least knows peole don’t want almost full size truck . They stick to what works . Why Ranger and colorado went opposite route is still very odd .

Me too actually. Zero problems in 13,000 miles. I have no problem calling myself cheap. I, Scott, am cheap. My wife isn't, which is why she drives a ludicrously expensive Volvo.

I don’t think brand loyalty is as big but i do think brand fear is somthing to watch . I’ll never buy a Kia for xyz reasons or Ram etc

Brand loyalty is huge, which is why I think the Maverick was introduced to begin with: to get first time buyers hooked to Ford. The first Ford I bought as an adult was my wife's 2008 Escape used in 2013 and the fact she and my daughter walked away from an accident unscathed is the only reason we considered a Ford when we went to replace it and why I'm bothering with the Maverick now. Otherwise, I was a Dodge/Ram driver and still watch their products. Rampage has me very tempted depending on what they do with it.

Every vehicle on that list I have seen on dealer's lots from time to time this summer except for the Maverick. Used ones are commanding basically what the original MSRP was IF a couple years old. Maverick is also the exception to that as well commanding on average 5K over.

Just my observations.

I'll never buy another Kia!

I have owned 4 Kia Vehicles, All with no issue's! Current one has 200K miles. Never thought I would buy a Ford but Cheapish seems to be the best word!
I'd buy this KIA truck if they bring it to US! Price $ 34K probably Hybrid for sure!

Brand loyalty is a strange thing. Nowadays, I think it's more a relic of the past. I don't know many people who blindly cling to a brand any more, when something else better suits their needs. There are exceptions, though - like my brother!

Blindly, no. But I've had great personal experience with Ford. New Fords I bought new since 2000:

2013 Escape Titanium 2.0EB

and soon 2023 Maverick XL Hybrid.

Many of those were work trucks used in my previous towing business, and all were great except that cluster of a diesel 6.0 from IH.
Bought 1 new 2000 Freightliner that was a total POS, and a couple GM's that were OK, but not as good as the Fords.

In the case of the Maverick, there was only one choice. I hate the weirdness of the Santa Cruz and small awkwardly shaped bed, and SUV looks. Maverick looks much more like a traditional truck. The 40MPG of the hybrid drove it home for me, since over 90% of my driving is slow stop and go around town.
