I think most are well aware of the wait. The vast majority of the "angry" customers were screwed by their dealers having the price change months to a year after initial order. Seems a lot like theft to me and understanbly makes people upset. I get that some people have a good dealers doing the right thing but there's a shit ton of dishonest dealers and something should be done. The bad dealers should at least split the " market adjustment " with the customer they stole it from seeing as it wouldn't be on their lot had they not ordered it..
You should get a check back for the increased price from order to delivery

Did not know Alto Blue was being discontinued. I love mine and it is a shame they are dropping it. Where did you get that information?
Unfortunately Alto didn't get that many orders. It is a nice color though. Then Ford adds Terrain which is like a beige, and not Eruption Green which a lot of people have been begging for, and is already being sprayed in the plant on the Bronco Sports. That's sad.

Yeah, the paperwork I signed with my order detailed my out-the-door cost. I’m not a lawyer so I can’t say whether it’s legally binding, but I think it’s pretty close. Paperwork signed and money exchanged hands.

$500. i wasn’t surprised. I expected it and thought it was reasonable. I get it back if I cancel. I thought this was/is standard practice. No?

If you ordered in Sept of last year there is a good chance you will see it soon. Most orders that went in between 9-16 to 9-19 are being built and delivered now..assuming you don't have constrained parts. You also should have check other dealers like Chapman Ford, PA (for NE folks) since they are below invoice price on their sales. I waited 9 months for a Lariat and it is on its way to the dealer today.
Mine was ordered in September last year - came 1 week ago today .

If I was as angry at Ford as some posters here seem to be, I’d cancel my order, get my deposit back, and buy something else. My dealer was honest up front that it would probably be close to a year, at best, when I ordered in September ‘22. I’ll wait for a Maverick as long as it takes. There’s nothing else out there with the same features and price point as my XL hybrid. I do have sympathy for the people who have to buy a truck quickly. There’s almost no way to get a Maverick quickly and anywhere close to MSRP.
I paid MSRP and got my maverick in 8 months.i understand some people have no patience though.

My initial order had been placed sometimes in January, 2022 and updated at the end of September in the same year. The Maverick was delivered in end of January of this year, just in the nick of time. I was going to cancel in the end of January, ordering anniversary, and just buy a Ridgeline. The jury is still out, if that would've been a better option....

Didn't really get any communications with my dealer about my Maverick, but I kept up to date because of the information posted on MTC so that wasn't that big of a deal. My wait was relatively on the shorter side at around 245 days from order to driveway and at price-protected MSRP, so I can't complain too much about my Maverick ordering experience other than the wait. Had to put it out of my mind for a few months, especially before it got scheduled, and after it got scheduled it was nice to be out of the country for an entire month not thinking about the Maverick coming in. That helped speed up the process for me in my mind.

I must have got lucky. My local ford dealer had a used 2022 xlt ecoboast on their lot. I decided on a maverick and bought one a week later.

Yep, our dealer also was telling folks placing new MY23 hybrid orders that they may not get filled. But we were told rollover orders from MY22 would get priority and would get built for MY23. So ordering an EcoBoost cut about a year off your wait time, when compared to me. (y)

Nature or nurture some are pre disposed to be a Karen
I waited 10 Months for mine, please be patient it is worth the wait. I love my truck and the mileage is great 39mpg so far with regular driving, haven't been in the highway yet since 6/14/23. Even with these long waits my son and one of my friends are ordering next round and both want hybrids and I am warning them and encouraging them to order.

What I think is ticking off most people is that years ago .... before the COV crap.....you would go to a dealership and they would usually have a car on the lot with what you wanted...or you could get one coming in within a month or so.... Then COV hit and now you can't get anything that you want...and most of the cars and trucks on the lots are not exactly want you want and on top of that they are marked up by some incredible amount due to "adjusted market conditions BS" which would never have flown before COV. The real issue is penny pinching corporations that farmed out everything overseas and then got burned badly with no parts available. The real problem is with the executives who were running Ford and GM making extremely poor decisions to save a buck and line their pockets. Notice that some car makers had nowhere near the issues that Ford and GM had since they had less greedy and smarter execs in those corporations.
