It is possible to get a pretty accurate ETA for your truck delivery after it's marked as "Shipped"
1) You just need to ask your dealer AND
2) Your dealer is willing to work with you.

This is what my dealer sent me upon inquiry.
going to email them every few days to see where the gps marker moved to.

The tool is called VinView. (thanks TMC member bbhaag)

My dealer has kept me in the loop with this as I believe this launched/was made available to them sometime in the past few months, but its not any more accurate than anything else. My trucks ETA in this was June 12 (didn't happen), June 18 (didn't happen), listed as Delayed (which dealer told me is typical when the delivery doesn't happen on ETA date), and now is listed as tomorrow (I'm not holding my breath). It all comes down to when the trucking companies can get it delivered.

The amazing thing (that we can all agree on) is that the Ford tracker link they send us, this service dealers can access, and Ford chat have all given me different dates, ranges, and even locations. I had Ford chat tell me that my vehicle was still on a train in Mexico, when it had been in a railyard off of the train for two weeks.

With all of that being said, once the vehicle is on a transport truck, the dealer can track it stop by stop through this service.

indeed it is depending on the mode of transportation. but this tool will update the movements (or non movement) so at least we'll know where the truck is, instead of being in the dark and guessing. Now we know exactly where and how long the delay will be. lol.

There tracking isn’t to bad. Except my maverick is sitting across from my dealer in a train yard at Michigan assembly plant. For almost two weeks now and they keep moving the date further out. And they have no control over it.

Don't even bother Ford chat after it has shipped, their system is woefully out of sync. The dealers system is the most accurate from factory to the dealership.

The dealership can track your Maverick to a certain degree. These truckletts come from Nogales Mexico. They will usually be delivered to a holding facility where they get loaded on a car transport carrier and get delivered; but here’s the rub:
You DON’T want your Maverick to be the first one off the train, because it could get buried in the yard by the last one’s off the train. So what should be a day or two May turn into weeks. Good luck!

That's nice if your dealer:
a) knows how to use the system.
b) is willing to share.

Mine was neither. I had to get the railcar number from Ford Chat and track it using CSX's phone system. Once it was dropped at the final ramp (50 miles away) I just had to wait until it showed up because my dealer had no idea when it would get on a truck for that last short drive.

0 results for me. Shipped last Wednesday.
Got the Ford “shipped” notice. Then nothing. Long time passed. Every day I googled my VIN. One day it showed up on a shipping summary, along with some other vehicles, being delivered to my dealer from the rail yard. Next morning I was there. They were just finishing the prep. I fell in love! Came back the next day for paperwork, etc.

You sure? I thought it was "genuine" vinyl... (Just messing with you - I know what you meant.)

I was actually quite surprised to find I like the ActiveX material on the Lariat seats. It is quite soft and supple, and doesn't get as hot as the old vinyl seats I used to have in the "OG" Maverick. Those things got HOT!

Offer to be your dealers Ford consultant to show them how to do their job.
