🚨 Email Update from Ford -- EcoBoost constraints ease; Hybrid battery availability limited

I received the same email at 4:06 this afternoon. Still have hopes of getting an Ecoboost. Guess it is September scheduling or bust!

Yep got it too. What gets me is the fact that they say the " battery availability continues to be an issue". If they weren't so dead set on shoving EV's like the Mach-E and Lightning on everyone they could focus those resources towards giving us consumers what we want and what they advertised they would sell us. The dealership I work at alone has 5 Mach-E's now that apparently no one wants, 2 or 3 have been there for months, and one of the 5 they just shipped us over the weekend, like we needed another one of the p.o.s's to look at. How many Maverick batteries could you make from one Mach-E battery's materials? Okay, rant over, but wait.... anyone want to start a " Pissed Off Would Be Maverick Owner Club" ?? lol

And the Mach E battery is like 70x times the size of the Maverick hybrid's. It's 75.7 kWh vs 1.1 kWh. They say that the EVs are better for the environment but for every one of those there's 70 Mavericks burning twice as much gas than if it was hybrid. Just sayin'.

Well my low end XLT, changed 2 weeks ago from XL, was recently scheduled for Aug 21, but I guess being scheduled means its too late for upgrade trim further to Lariat. So there is literally nothing that can be done

I would like to know what exactly the issue with the battery supply is? Is it their own allocation of which batteries need to go to which models in the pecking order? Will batteries always be this hard to supply? Or is it a matter of getting the other materials and production correct?

I think that email just stated give up most of you are not getting the hybrid maverick. Maybe better luck in 2024 or 2025 or 2026. What a joke of a brand.

I could not help noticing the abundance of hybrids in the June production emails. We were scheduled in May. Here's how it looks to me. Ford understood the hybrid tension and did not want to extend it further. So they maxed out their hybrid capacity and let everyone know the limits, allowing hybrid customers to move on. It changes the controversy to who wants an EB this year or who wants to get in line for a '24.

Maybe right. No idea. Tried the allocation question w dealer and was told they are #5 Mav dealer in US. Bothered Ford chat every 2 weeks and get sane answer: in the pipeline w clean order. Got a 2nd call yesterday from Ford about watching the intro video for features. Told him still no VIN and a little worried about 23MY. He said don’t worry, you will get your order. Not holding my breath. Just wish Ford would be honest about who will get the order or their chances. Maybe SE Texas hybrid winners should buy lottery tickets. Only a little envious.

Got the same email. I’m wondering what Toyota will offer in the small truck market.

Absolutely nothing. Would be 2025 at the earliest even then I don't think they would be offering anything. They been busy revamping the Tacoma so they could now offer a hybrid that doesn't get much better gas mileage than the truck it replaced. The Maverick will be the only compact hybrid around for quite a while. If the new ram has a hybrid version maybe it would be sooner for a competitor to launch.

We all work at our local municipality. All of us went in (separate times if the day) when the order banks opened up. We also went back to the dealership (McRee Ford
2800 Gulf Fwy, Dickinson, TX 77539
) when the BAP became available and made the changes. Two others that I know had ordered an XL without absolutely anything else added to it. And 5 people ordered an XLT with different variants of options added. I’ve seen people here that had waited over 600 days and that is totally unacceptable. I would have given up. Hopefully others that are waiting do get their trucks soon. I feel terrible that I got mine long before others.

The Maverick is an inexpensive hybrid option. If it isn’t realistic to get one, I may as well buy a lower end Tacoma.

I stopped by a Ford dealership a couple weeks ago that showed Mavs on their site. Nope not in stock, and the salesman bragged he sold one for “only” 4k over MSRP to the customer who ordered it. I said that’s unethical. He said there’s no contract and the price is a manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price. I replied it’s the MANUFACTURER suggested retail price and they are not the manufacturer. Just then someone stormed out of the building and took off…obviously angry. Two sales people came out. Doesn’t look good. I placed my order at another dealership but I can’t say they might not try increase the price.
