Thanks for the info. Out of the 10 or so videos I have seen of his, I must have not watched the one where he talked about out of state sales, but I have heard him talk about others numbers before. I believe he had a few hundred (4-500?) Maverick orders alone for this year, right? So add in all of the other Ford models, and that is a nice chunk of orders from out of state. I'm sure every dealer gets some out of state orders if they happen to have a vehicle with all the options someone really wanted, etc..., but when closer to 1/3 of all sales are out of state orders... is impressive!
It is impressive. We ordered our Bronco Sport from him and our Mavericks from him. So that is three vehicles. We are in Texas. Picked up the Sport and drove it home. Picking up the first Maverick this coming weekend and will drive it home too. The second Maverick is getting built this week.

It is something they actively promote. They even have graphics on some/most of their vehicle listing photos showing arrows pointing away from Kansas.

For example.....

Ford Maverick Long McArthur Ford is gettting ZERO allocations for at least this coming month. 1

A small dealership will only have a handful of orders. All orders should be COVP to weed out the dealer spamming the order banks. Dealers that game the system by creating fake orders get punished. I wouldn't do the "reduced allocations" that Ford threatened, as that also punishes the clueless customer wondering why they are still waiting, but I'm sure there is something Ford can do to make the dealers wary of doing that.
They can give there employees 100.. to covp it yes ,no?

Just heard Long McArthur Ford is getting ZERO allocations for this coming month. (Corrected from saying "rest of the year").

FYI, they were ranked 3rd in the Nation for EcoBoost in sales for Month of May.
January-May of 2023, they are ranked 4th in the Nation in Hybrid sales.

Zero allocations......
well there are other dealers in the nation that haven't received even one Maverick yet for their customers. so divide Mavericks around to other dealers. No monopolies.

I have absolutely nothing against Tim and I applaud him for the fine service he provides. One needs to keep in mind this is the product of an unnamed Marketing genius at LM. Here, we are talking about Mavericks yet we have no idea whether LM is successful with their other models.

With that being said, Ford really needs to gather all of their brain trust and truly figure out how many Mavericks they can produce without compromising the product. I agree that until they can stabilize the process, they should go to a "first in first out" delivery model perhaps based on a region. They should be able to plan the delivery logistics more accurately.

Ford better get their acts together fast or else the other brands are going to catch up and surpass them. If I didn't have a backup car, I would have bought a Ridgeline instead of the namesake I took my driving road test in 52 years ago...
I'm a YT member. LM is successful at selling all models. I talk to a couple of high volume dealerships in my area who say LM is one of their major competitors. Tim's monthly sales numbers support my position.

I can not believe what Ford is doing to Long Mcauthor AND TIM Shame on you ford ☠👎 you got your Number 3 dealer in the USA for ECOs. And Number 4 for Hybrids in the USA for Maverick's ⁉ Also what about the Hundreds of Customers that have been
waiting for their Mavericks ⁉ SHAME ON YOU FORD🌩 Your 💩 on one of your best dealers and 💩💩💩💩💩 On Hundreds of your Customers you have cost your Customers lots of TIME /MONEY This is not how you run a business farley No a thousand time No 👎🌩Tim and Long McArthur Have been you number ONE CHEERLEADER FOR OVER 2 PLUS YEARS ON YOU TUBE 😊👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 he has 100 s of people watch Him and Shara and sold 1000s of Maverick's and Broncos and you treat them like that 👎🌩⁉. Sure would be funny if customer care and the upper brass got a lot of phone calls and E mails. I'm sorry Ford there is no way to defend your actions. (. I truly wonder what Henry Ford would say to this action I don't think it would be GOOD 💯
There are some dealers who have not got their Mavericks ordered for any other customers. The formula for deciding who gets what car and when should be based upon the date it was stamp that Ford received the custom order not just based upon allocations otherwise other places in the country would not receive a Maverick at all or just a few.

Yes great point. Let's take another angle on this though. Let's say a Ford dealership knows exactly how many allocations they have for the year and they take exactly that number of orders. 100 orders, but 25 of those orders are constrained and never get scheduled. Dealer only gets 75 orders filled. 25 left on the table. Now let's say they take 150 orders and 25 of those extra orders actually get scheduled because their orders were buildable. All dealer allocations are used and 25 more happy customers.

This is why I like the Toyota model better. When a dealer gets an allocation if reflects a unit that can be built. The customer says that fits what I want or at least close to what I want, I'll take it! That customer is going to get that vehicle period.

I think the Ford model if done correctly, (dealer knows allocations and customers knows as well), is fine if we are NOT dealing with a high demand highly constrained vehicle. That's defiantly not the Maverick.
Toyota's corporate offices generate regional allocations each quarter. Dealerships fight over the individual vehicles scheduled to be built. You cannot custom order one of their vehicles.

At least that many have been scheduled, yes. Don't know about delivered. But that is not out of the ordinary if Ford Corporate uses the "Market Basket" Formula they claimed they would use for allocations. The allocations are supposed to be distributed based on a formula that looks at prior year sales volume for certain models. Long McArthur earned each allocation they have been given based on their past sales volume. So saying "Didn't they already get" makes it sound a bit like they did not deserve those 70 or that this zero for next month is something to be expected. They did deserve each and every one of their prior allocations based on the mathematical formula Ford claimed they would be using. Ford has now essentially said "Too bad, formula doesn't apply to you........for reasons we don't feel like telling you. But keep on selling those vehicles for us! Thanks for being third in the nation on one list and fourth in the nation on another. Here is a kick in the crotch for ya."
Could it be that Ford is trying to spread the Mavericks around to other dealers who have got few or no Mavericks at all?

As with ANY allocation thread here, most are posting statements based on.....no real information.

If LM has no allocations for a month, it may well have been known that was coming. Maybe, due to LM's really good service toward customers, they had gotten WAY more allocation than they normally would in the past few months. Now, Ford is trying to catch up on Retail orders before model year build out. Could be they are concentrating on other good dealers with a backlog that really needs and deserves attention. There are a lot of good dealers, I don't doubt LM is one of them. But Tim does not work for Ford. His videos are not sponsored by Ford. They are an excellent way to promote HIM and his dealership. Which I applaud.

Most here won't agree, but I think Ford has made a big effort to fill as many retail orders as they can. Yes, there are fleet orders. But what I hear is that many of those have been waiting as long as some of the retail orders. Not many months back the sentiment here was that something like 30 or 40,000 Hybrid orders might not get built. Now that may be under half or even better of that amount. Again, the dealers have a responsibility to plan how many orders they can fill. Nothing wrong
with taking more, AS LONG AS IT IS MADE CLEAR THEY ARE UNLIKELY TO GET BUILT!
Lm i s a business I don't have any sympathy for them they're there to make money. They come on a podcast to promote their business their company, not Ford. They would do the same if they were Chevy. I do feel a sorrow for the people are waiting for the Ford Mavericks at LM though
.

LM and Tim and Sarah love their Company, Ford. And do a great job representing Ford!
So do other dealerships that were not aware of. Their business people thats what business people trying to make cash do. Their not doing what they do for free.

Agree. Tim/LM is a very helpful resource but I’m a long way from Kansas. I should not be punished as Ford’s end consumer because there are no middlemen (dealers) as good in my region. If I take this to its extreme, in order for all consumers to compete fairly, we should all just order from one dealer nationwide and have them ship to us.
Thats correct. Lm is not your buddy their trying to get cash from your pocket. Everything they do is a strategy to get your green.

I called for today ask them am I going to get a VIN number I've been waiting 9 months. Why don't they tell me so I can move on and look elsewhere? I ordered on September 15th. They know how many cars they can make so they can just tell me the answer.

Technically you can’t custom order Fords. Too many constraints, even special orders showing up at dealerships with features left off. If they ever come at all. You get what Ford wants you to get and if it matches what you really wanted then great but there are many many cases where what you wanted is not what you ended up with.
